I hate saying this but I low-key think Karoline was holding together that press section of the white house by a thread. Notice how now that she's gone all **** has hit the fan. I could see her not going for the ban if she was there because there were rumors her and Natalie bumped heads and hated each other. Something similar with press almost being disabled from the briefing room earlier this year and Karoline actually took up for the journalist.

I just saw a clip on tiktok where a guy was interviewing people waiting out the NC rally last night and they asked them about Michael Whatley running for Senate and half of them had no clue who he is. When asked what's important to them this midterm some even said "Trump"
