  1. They cared more about soundtrack sales at the time trying to repeat the success of Titanic, so the only way you could download the song digitally on iTunes was by purchasing the entire album (as a stan I remember being so pissed ) So that pretty much kneecapped its chances plus the fact that ballads were not in vogue and felt "dated" in 2009 which also affected Leona's sophomore album and crisis of image, and culturally things wouldn't shift until Adele's comeback in 2011.
  2. Vogue in The Devil Wears Prada 1+2 Send Me On My Way in Matilda + Ice Age A Thousand Miles in White Chicks
  3. An iconic singles run; 1) Mowgli's Road 2) Shampain 3) Oh No! 4) Hollywood 5) I Am Not a Robot 6) Obsessions
  4. Then people shouldn't act so brand new when they call it desperate.
  5. A winning speech at the first televised awards show of the season will help keep her fresh on people's minds once Oscar nomination voting starts a week later and helps to kick start her win narrative; it makes sense for her to push here that she is worthy. Now or never. If she loses at CCA and at the Globes — her easiest path — to Amy or Teyana then her momentum looks faded as the movie itself is not as beloved as its predecessor. Basically, good for her! It's a race and she's racing like anyone else and she would make history just to be nominated again.
  6. Oh so climate migrants then? Another bellwether when the mega rich are starting to flee from sunny status symbols like LA living to milder climate safety. Although thinking of the many climate migrants already trying to do the same thing, and will be met with fortress Europe, forced into making dangerous crossings to be met with far right fascism from our country. And even within the UK you will start to see more movement northwards in time (Scotland is going to become very popular as the climate heats up) but that's not going to matter much when this Summer was seeing weeks of above 86F in Finland. The whole political system knows what radical change is needed and the rich are well aware of what is happening but we are still barrelling towards disaster because the mega rich believe they have the resources to buy their way out of a failing world. The poor will be left behind to suffer and that's why taxing their wealth matters and no billionaires should exist because it is an existential threat to collective society. Anyway if true hope the Carters enjoy the greenery of the Cotswolds while it's still there I guess.
  7. I'm sure there's more regret for Harry Potter tattoos and money spent on removing them or covering them up (particularly as most people with one are more than likely queer) than there is statistical patient regret for any kind of gender confirmation surgeries (one of the lowest surgery regret levels on the NHS). Makes you think.
  8. Side eyeing every LGBT person that continues to materially support this franchise with weak excuses like "but it's my childhood!" "The next generation deserves their version!" as if the primary market for this isn't the same millennials who were seated for the movies the first time round who should know better and the only reason we are getting this is because Emma and Daniel are principled enough to walk away from any legacy sequels and because JK is too incompetent a storyteller to expand the world past the core books (Fantastic Beasts found dead in ditch). When it comes out at least have the decency to pirate your slop that is directly funding hate groups intent on rolling back our rights instead of contributing to its success.
  9. Maybe my fav Florence cover already, reminding me of this excellence;
  10. She's only carrying on the litigation despite winning in 2023 because she wants to get out of paying the remaining $6m owed on the property. It's either greed or vindictiveness or both
  11. And she's only paid $9m so far, and is now trying to scam this terminally ill man out of paying the remaining $6m of the property value by counter suing despite already renting out the property to Chris Pratt last year. Reneging on the initial contract wouldn't have cost her $15m, but Katy has chosen to spend the last 5 years in litigation all because she was obsessed with this mansion and its potential to make additional income for her or apparently being a "forever home" for her and Orlando.
  12. The way the new Superman's entire emotional arc boils down to this… truly sent me. There's even a line "maybe kindness is the real punk rock." Ddd. I see you James Gunn. In the cultural sense Gaga once again found speaking in future tense.
  13. Losing both The Vivienne and Kim Woodburn in the same year is such a hun cultural loss.
  14. Wonderful! Take your poisonous concern elsewhere
  15. Transphobia is just another flavour of internalised misogyny because have you seen the way some women speak of men who they find attractive who date women who they deem "ugly" or have some other "undesirable" trait? It's not just trans women who get the "I would lose interest if they dated you" it's fat and larger women, dark skinned women, disabled women, women from ethnic minorities etc etc Almost like intersectionality is important and that some women have internalised self loathing so much they just prop up the violence caused by and standards upheld by white suprematist patriarchy, including shaming straight men dating women who don't fit norms. Nene sits there with her blonde weave and wonders why she can't be happy and fulfilled in a relationship while degrading another woman sitting across from her.
  16. Not a certain ATRL liddo who goes by the name Ramos reposting Riley Gaines transphobia on Twitter.
  17. She should do a one-off recorded concert special at The Hollywood Bowl once Wicked and next years Oscars are done. She would make bank from the streaming rights although I don't think she will go that route now she has the NBC special with Cynthia in November that will be on Peacock.
  18. Our EGO Queen
  19. Alice vs Disease Stupid Love vs Abracadabra Rain On Me vs Garden of Eden Free Woman vs Perfect Celebrity Fun Tonight vs Vanish Into You 911 vs Killah Plastic Doll vs Zombieboy Sour Candy vs LoveDrug Enigma vs How Bad Do U Want Me Replay vs Don't Call Tonight Sine From Above vs Shadow of a Man 1000 Doves vs The Beast (weakest battle) Babylon vs Blade of Grass Love Me Right vs Die With A Smile I am no Chromatica hater, but that opening Mayhem stretch is maybe Gaga's strongest run to date. Things deflate a little in the middle in Chromatica's favour and then completely flatten to barely a pulse by the end while Gaga serves a Top 3 album closer with Babylon and one of her warmest songs with Love Me Right opposite something more doldrum for Mayhem's last minute addition.
  20. Actually the Gen Z Kate Winslet comparison feels right to me, moreso than JLaw although all three are great at raw, emotionally open / down to earth performances that swell in the eyes. Also despite the tabloid drama and so-so reviews, Florence's screen charisma carried Don't Worry Darling to a decent sized box office haul for its genre trappings aimed at adult audiences who have built trust in her as a performer over the years ($90m, on par with Challengers); can see her quietly racking up a similar body of acclaimed acting work as the aforementioned over the next decade. Plus on the horizon.. 2026: Avengers: Doomsday + Dune: Messiah 2027: Avengers: Secret Wars Is giving mid 2010s Lawrence line-up and only bettered by Zendaya (who is yet to really entwine undeniable acting prowess into her rising star bookings in the same way imo). Hopefully though the MCU doesn't tie her down too much past that point.
  21. 2025: Mayhem deluxe edition October + streaming special December in time for Grammys voting period 2026: End of Mayhem Ball / Grammys / down time / whatever film work she wants to do 2027: Q2 LG8 + Glastonbury headliner slot leading into a cute summer stadium tour 2028: Die With A Smile as society collapses — Gaga rihtires to her apocalypse bunker in Malibu with Michael. 2030: Relaunches Haus Labs 3.0 Survival Kits out of her basement / is dragged by the underground resistance 2050: AI controlled robots discover rotting batches of Target exclusive Mayhem vinyls amidst the receding floodwaters — instantly stan Can't Stop the High, beginning a Paws Up renaissance that lasts well into the second half of the century.
  22. Painting being pointedly obtuse as a defence strategy to whataboutism the tattered PR of a favourite pop star — who drew her line in the sand and thought nothing of it (just like her stans this time last year who convinced themselves nostalgia for Teenage Dream and Doja Cat would mean there would be no repercussions for working with Puke again) — and bring Kesha down to the same level of moral bankruptcy as balanced isn't going to work on me. Condescend less.
