We got one of the best albums of her career, it's doing well whether "underperforming expectations" or not... she's doing FABULOUSLY! AND WE ARE EATING.

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

Ummm her Spotify stats is on par with Chromatica which did 276K with REN smashing completely on AM. It all depends on her pure sales but I don't think it's very low?

Chromatica was also a very mid Spotify debut :rip: without ROM and SC it was in the 30Ms :rip: also Chromatica was INFLATTEEEED by bundles. Without them it would've only done like ~130K US (legit did less than 80M US streams), so you should'nt compare its units to try and piece together Renaissance's.

I'm objective for both of my girls :giraffe:

This is why I wanted to use Billie as an example and not Gaga. Chromatica had frontloaded bundles that masqueraded its debut as more than what was actually being consumed from it. That's why it tumbled quickly while HTE stayed afloat for as long as it has.

So....these numbers are pretty much almost exactly how I expected them to be. She smashed AM, did fine on Spotify (but for her standards, it's solid). This is a polarising sound for her core audience, still. She needs to release Cuff It as the 2nd single rather quickly.

Still clinging to my 220k prediction

I am down for some BMS  purchase, download, streaming action to snatch that #1

Beyoncé is smashing on AM. Gaga did only ok. It took her a day to get to the top of AM then fell off the next day. So any loss on Spotify has been made up on AM. :cm: it’s all down to pure sales.

Not even really okay. It was a bomb :hoetenks:

I'm embarrassed to admit that I can't get Heated out of my head.

Oh No Ugh GIF

In my opinion, it's one of the weakest songs in the album (sans the last minute, of course) but it's really catchy.

Well, we had a good 24 hours not discussing numbers. :rip:

Best to log off if they’re bad. We’ll know in an hour or so

Don’t let any of the psychos convince you the spotify debut was bad, we literally have a 40 year old black woman smashing on AM, doing decently well on Spotify, a predicted 165k sales, and a potential for her lead single to go #1. Beyonce is doing MORE than fine:rip:

When is the HDD numbers coming out? In a few hours?

Tbh, I think the numbers might be bigger if it wasn't for the leak. Sure Adele and Harry's album leak, but B has her second fanbase that will rush and stream her music despite being her haters.

Leaks also seem to hurt urban artists the most for some reason.

Probably are pretty low if her team are so quiet.

Her side projects did some damage from the hype. Numbers would've been bigger if this was first new Bey music in 6 years, I'd rather we had Destiny's Child reunion album than that Jay Z and Disney fillers

WELL

FOR ME it's definitely a 10/10.

Yet again she was able to deliver a richly layered, thoughtful and artistic work but this time doing so in a way that is entirely fun, uplifting, rewarding, sensatory, and almost simple in intentions.

I really can't believe its here, and am so looking forward to what we are getting next. As usual, I think she knows what she's doing and I'll always defer to her, so as much as I'd LOVE to have a visual album, the fact that it's just music is lowkey brilliant (lowkey becuase 'just music' is so obvious that it's also not obvious for Beyoncé). She said "a video for every song because we are making ALBUMS and every song deserves a video" and now she's saying "no visuals whatsoever, because we are making ALBUMS".

She really has shown she's in the first class of album-makers of all generations. I can't think of many artists who not only continually improve and experiment artistically to a degree that pays off so long after their debut, but who do it with such cultural force and understanding of the moment so as to be relevant and digested by the masses at the same time. Madonna and Michael Jackson are really the only popstar who I think has had that long-lasting artistry.

What I love most about the album is how tuned into the theme she is. All the 1980s/1990s rap cadences she uses, the call-outs, the ball-MC-isms, she injected that into so many tracks not just a few, and it really paints a full picture of her intent in such a beautiful way, and the fact that she can pull it off too is even more beautiful. I also quite like how she maintained her Beyoncé-brand, didn't necessarily just put out an outright dance album for the sake of it, AND the way she's so calm and self-assured with her delivery. Her saying she's "number one" in a tone that is as if that's not even remarkable to say is BADASS imo, and something really unique (UNIQUE!) about the record, how in herself and the moment she is... one really thinks of big house songs as always having the BIG voice, but Beyoncé kind of updates that and just feels in her element. Rather than her making music FOR the clubs, she's making music ABOUT the club, how it feels to be on the floor, what you're doing, saying, how you're acting.

Beyoncé makes it SO hard to pick favourites, but it's definitely in my Top Three.

FAVE TRACKS:

I'M THAT GIRL
ALIEN SUPERSTAR

HEATED

CHURCH GIRL

SUMMER RENAISSANCE

but they are all SOOOOO great. No skips!

And thanks for asking. I wanted to post more but the site glitching and never letting me be able to access the comment box discouraged me from trying more. Has anyone else had that constantly. I'll refresh like 20x and its still blue every time.

I was wondering where your review was on this masterpiece. 100% understand tho cause this site is becoming more and more unusable. :skull:

I believe you the first here to have I’m That Girl in your top favorites. Def agree I love she was very dedicated and spot on with carrying out the themes to this project (even tho she always does); but something about this album really brings out the fun and nostalgia. I can’t get over how she included so many 80s/90s elements then mixed with new age material.

I really admire the amount of switches in most tracks. Kanye was the last artist I knew to pull that off phenomenally. The track-by-track blends were amazing too. Just when you think a song is finna end she takes you in another direction.

I’m still stunned. She was smart for making BMS the lead and refusing to give a visual. The accompanying visuals on the same day would’ve took us out. :deadbanana2:

I agree, for all the circumstances this is a pretty solid debut (I would actually factor in a traditionally "urban" artist shunning her main demo by going dance/Billy Porter'd as the major reason for any underperformance) but there is still areas of improvement that could've been done to improve; US Spotify numbers for instance.

All in all though, these were the numbers I was expecting. Numbers I was dragged in here 2 months ago for predicting.

I think your prediction was higher than mine. We gonna call it misplaced draggings. :skull:

pure/honey is gonna ******* destroy me on tour :jonny5:

also whatever @ the spotify numbers maybe if you girlies weren’t streaming before it dropped  40m isn’t even bad either and she’s eating up apple music

I legit get goosebumps everytime I listen to Virgo's Groove

It's just so surreal that she keeps on pushing herself artistically so far into her career. To be releasing a record of this magnitude 20+ years into her carrer, especially after magnum opuses like ST and Lem is mind-blowing.

I have the utmost admiration for this woman. She's truly in a lane of her own.

no like the bass THUMPING through the stadium as she hits some sickening vogue choreo i need it!!

Twenty, forty, eighty out the trap
Hit it with the rap
Put it on the map
Then we right back (Mm)
Call me when you wanna get hi-i-i-igh
Tony Montana with the racks
Ivy P on my bag
Double G's on my dash

man I’m BAD

This is all @*-ChriZ-*'s fault for making Bey read all his posts about making house album!

giphy.gif?cid=790b761151468d10bc2998fe3c

Gaga stans might drag her now but it will be Bey who will outchart Oreomathica in couple of weeks just like how Smash My Soul did with Stupid Bomb

I personally think she did well on Spotify. The numbers reflect people pressing play and listening all the way through. Those transitions were to good.
