Diana Ross served the first official Main Pop Girl era 50 years ago in 1976
The whole thing was definitely bittersweet. Diana was booed at the funeral and in a way Detroit made it all about her, and how much they disliked her. J. Randy Taborelli's "Call Her Miss Ross" kicks off with Flo's funeral and it was open season on Diana the moment Detroit knew she would be in attendance

Yeah, she basically broke a 3 way tie between herself, Cher and Brenda Lee I believe. Donna and Barbra Streisand tied her in '79, and then she took the lead again in '81 with Endless Love, which she held until Madonna and Whitney later in the 80's. Counting her singles with The Supremes however she was at 16 total career #1 singles in '76.

50 Years ago, in 1976, Diana Ross released her self-titled seventh studio album, and it was arguably the first official Main Pop Girl era. The album was released after her second film Mahogany, and re-established her as the #1 female artist in the game. The album sent 2 singles to #1. "Theme from Mahogany", and "Love Hangover". This made her at the time, the female artist with the most #1 singles ever on the Billboard Chart. She was the singles artist of the year, Billboards female artist of the year, and was also crowned artist of the century by Billboard. This was her second biggest era after 1980's Diana, which was a comeback of sorts for her. But would you say that Diana served the first official Main Pop Girl era with the Diana Ross album?

Is your fave a gay icon?
Actually, being a gay icon does not correlate with being an ally or advocate. A gay icon is simply someone who's image is generally associated with the Queer community. Gay icons date back a century to women like Mae West and Josephine Baker. Both who pre-date the Queer liberation movement in the late 1960's.

HDD: #1 Bruno Mars 180k, #7 Blackpink 53k, Hilary Duff outside top 50
Bruno Mars has ALWAYS had relatively low first week sales. It's longevity that's always on his side.

Nicki Minaj joins Erika Kirk at AmericaFest and praises Trump
It's clear as day she needs money, which is why no "celebrity" is really safe. I'm not excusing the behavior, but it's obvious she's in a financial crunch and needs bail money.

If pop girls stopped being pop girls what would they be
I actually see Beyoncé being a beauty Queen, she has (especially in her earlier 20's) such a pageant beauty to her. She could have been Miss America/Miss World 2003 or something lol

Happy 44th Birthday Beyoncé
44 is quite the year considering the significance of the number 4 to her. Clearly something is in the works?
