I agree! Her monthly listeners are about to get a massive boost - and this is going to set her up nicely for Act II.

Tbh, I think the numbers might be bigger if it wasn't for the leak. Sure Adele and Harry's album leak, but B has her second fanbase that will rush and stream her music despite being her haters.

20,000 people alone downloaded the leak I was listening to. That’s 320,000 streams lost alone, and that’s assuming those people were going to listen to the album just once. 

 

Millions of streams were lost due to the leak, unfortunately. 

It doesn’t really matter though. I’ve got a feeling this album is going to serve longevity. 

 

Honestly I was more convinced before that the other acts are actual albums. That said, yes it will marvelous for her streaming presence. But nobody's talking about the fact that if we get another album in, say, 6 months, we'll probably have 1-2 singles* per album

The Spotify numbers were within the range I was expecting (35M-45M), but US kinda underperformed. 1.6M for the highest song isn't anything impressive. I thought she would be able to get 1-3 songs above 2M. BMS did 1.9M on its debut. 18.2M US Spotify debut is really meh... 

 

Her streaming game definitely needs time to recoup, but as other's said, releasing multiple projects within a short time frame will help that.

Here's to hoping for amazing pure sales, but realistically I'm still seeing the total US debut units maxing out 250K. 
 

I am so gosh darn in adoration of this project from start to finish. Only Energy and AUIYM are filler to me. This album is everything I’ve ever hoped from a Beyoncé album - experimental, boundary pushing, maximalist, vocally &sonically dynamic and each song being just long enough to allow us to just vibe with the sonical environment the production creates. I really think this album will become my favorite Beyoncé album over time. ????cure my sadness Bey

When you consider she’s 40 yo Black artist coming off a streaming low i.e. TG + refusal to upload Lemonade. This is quite amazing. Also Renaissance didn’t really have no streaming monster collabs on the album.

FOR ME it's definitely a 10/10.

 

Yet again she was able to deliver a richly layered, thoughtful and artistic work but this time doing so in a way that is entirely fun, uplifting, rewarding, sensatory, and almost simple in intentions.

 

I really can't believe its here, and am so looking forward to what we are getting next. As usual, I think she knows what she's doing and I'll always defer to her, so as much as I'd LOVE to have a visual album, the fact that it's just music is lowkey brilliant (lowkey becuase 'just music' is so obvious that it's also not obvious for Beyoncé). She said "a video for every song because we are making ALBUMS and every song deserves a video" and now she's saying "no visuals whatsoever, because we are making ALBUMS".

 

She really has shown she's in the first class of album-makers of all generations. I can't think of many artists who not only continually improve and experiment artistically to a degree that pays off so long after their debut, but who do it with such cultural force and understanding of the moment so as to be relevant and digested by the masses at the same time. Madonna and Michael Jackson are really the only popstar who I think has had that long-lasting artistry.

 

What I love most about the album is how tuned into the theme she is. All the 1980s/1990s rap cadences she uses, the call-outs, the ball-MC-isms, she injected that into so many tracks not just a few, and it really paints a full picture of her intent in such a beautiful way, and the fact that she can pull it off too is even more beautiful. I also quite like how she maintained her Beyoncé-brand, didn't necessarily just put out an outright dance album for the sake of it, AND the way she's so calm and self-assured with her delivery. Her saying she's "number one" in a tone that is as if that's not even remarkable to say is BADASS imo, and something really unique (UNIQUE!) about the record, how in herself and the moment she is... one really thinks of big house songs as always having the BIG voice, but Beyoncé kind of updates that and just feels in her element. Rather than her making music FOR the clubs, she's making music ABOUT the club, how it feels to be on the floor, what you're doing, saying, how you're acting.

 

Beyoncé makes it SO hard to pick favourites, but it's definitely in my Top Three.

I agree, for all the circumstances this is a pretty solid debut (I would actually factor in a traditionally "urban" artist shunning her main demo by going dance/Billy Porter'd as the major reason for any underperformance) but there is still areas of improvement that could've been done to improve; US Spotify numbers for instance.

All in all though, these were the numbers I was expecting. Numbers I was dragged in here 2 months ago for predicting.

Ummm her Spotify stats is on par with Chromatica which did 276K with REN smashing completely on AM. It all depends on her pure sales but I don't think it's very low?
