She is. That's why she still has the biggest debut of 2020s decade.

Adele can have "biggest second week sales since 2016" or something tho.

it’s so funny to see them act shocked at 250k after they claimed 30 would outdo Red TV in its second week

working with what ifs again.

what i see rn is a 68% 2nd week drop for 30 and a 84% drop for folklore

Taylor had the #1 song in the country with a 10:13 song. What now :)

? I am talking about the album. I am not debating with your 10 year old ass

Not people saying the 2nd week numbers aren't outstanding when no one elses is doing it, if you're gonna troll at least do it without looking like a clown :rip:

I own a few of her albums and follow her on all social media. I'm not a stan, but I am somewhat a fan. Hate her insufferable fanbase though :coffee2:

The Swifties are so stuck up and annoying :deadbanana2:

I like Taylor's music but her fanbase are so off-putting

Sales for music have still declined though? I bought a physical copy and realized my only CD player was in my car. For 2021 these are good sales.. and still among the biggest of the year.

They want to ignore the fact that the industry has drastically declined in the last half decade. Taylor had a 6m selling album around the same time 25 dropped and now her most recent one is struggling to reach 800k. The standards for everyone have collapsed, Taylor herself had multilple 300k+ weeks at her peak and now they're all over the thread bragging about 100k units for a 30-track album. :toofunny3:

Arguing over album sales in 2021. :rip: After the first week, no one gives a **** about an album these days anymore unless you're an unestablished act people are discovering for the first time.

Move on.

We’re saying they’re obviously great, but Adele is not on that completely untouchable tier she used to be anymore.

Adele has the biggest debut in HISTORY, no wonder that cult is fuming. They have to stick to EXTREMELY SPECIFIC records.

OT: Congrats, Adele!

Adele: One Night Only concert being shown on CBS and better playlisting is honestly already enough :deadbanana4:  A whole concert being shown on TV is definitely not less than 2-3 late night appearances and Taylor didnt even perform besides on SNL

But my main point was more about the promo BEFORE album release.. you literally listed things like '''album/tracklist reaveal, preorder and social media hype'' as promo.. she literally didnt do anything else before album release and Adele obviously did those things aswell
Adele also did things like the 72 questions interview, had her album title on every billboard all over the world, OPRAH WINFREY interview, Apple Music interview with Zane Low and some more stuff... point is both promoted their albums, so lets not pretend Adele didnt do anything :rip:

Are you saying Taylor's promotion is worse because....she promoted during release week? Aka the people who see her promotion could BUY her album as she promoted it? :deadbanana2: Adele had one TV promotion PRIOR to release week and it was exclusive to her. No one had to watch it and it actually makes it harder to make people interested in an entire hour dedicated to one singer just talking about her life and music. Adele didn't even debut a music video with 30 :rip:

You're equating that to Taylor having the following ON release week:

SNL skits + Performance

Short Film/Music Video release + bringing up drama with an A-list actor

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

Late Night with Seth Meyer

:rip:

And we're all well-aware of that, she's way past her untouchable peak but she's still doing amazing numbers which is what we're celebrating, or well at least I am.

all that talk abt stability… I'll be curious to see if 30 will still be charting in the top 40, like folklore, 70 weeks after release :dancehall:

She, Taylor, and Drake (and Olivia and Billie ig) are truly the last bastions of hope for the industry (we’re gonna ignore the racist country chanteuse)

lover sold 1,367,000 and folklore 1,527,000 according to my sources. not sure about reputation

lemonade and reputation are the last albums to sell 2M pure

There are a few on here who aren't totally miserable, but LORD they're starting to give 2011 Monsters a run for their money

Yeah and this is what we should be celebrating, artists pulling good numbers but instead we're stuck with this dragging like :rip:

Fair enough...I admitted I might be outdated in my thoughts. It used to be the benefit of Black Friday sales was a nice like 20-30 if not 50% if promoted thoroughly that week boost for established albums and if you released the week before the 2nd week would soften a bit because more copies purchased based on discounted albums.

Meh. Adele remains #1 and a legend...carry forward

ShamefulOrneryIndigobunting-size_restric

I’m not gonna say anything other than, online retail suddenly doesn’t exist, which what took over completely for the last two years and hasn’t slow down since, for obvious reasons...

So...

Adele stans stream Red TV

Taylor stans stream 30

while going back and forth and let the two top selling legends of their generation unite both parties

Her pure sales are great but those streaming numbers are kinda low... they need to do something

She has two of the biggest albums of all time, a catalog of classics, etc, etc. Who gives a **** at this point? She doesn't have to sell 30 million albums every time to prove herself. :rip:

The fact that after 13 years, she's still one of the biggest artists (hands down the biggest globally), is an amazing accomplishment. Go back to counting Taylor's streams since that's all Swifties apparently do all day.

Swifities really cannot handle Taylor having any kind of competition and it's pathetic. :rip: I hope y'all are under 20.

Interesting how Adele's week 1 + 2 outsells Folklore's first 2 weeks.

Guess those bundles weren't as effective 2nd week huh. And that's on genuine GP interest.
