  1. I remember their interaction in the 90s...still such a tragedy for Michelle.
  2. Britney stans Celine, Mariah and Whitney. Just like herself...double diamond album premiere vocalists
  3. Future, breaking a four-way tie, to ascend to 3rd place with his 12th #1.
  4. She didn't even have to go Back to Black...she could have been featured on some hip hop and r&b songs before Lady Marmalade and it would have been a great transition because people in my community (the black community) loved that she could "sang" and was not really feeling Beyonce due to DC3 corniness and overexposure plus Beyonce's technical excellence but missing soul and true emotion. The industry made it clear that Justin and Xtina (booked them on a joint tour too) were meant to serve as blue eyed soul against Usher and Beyonce. Usher stomped with Confessions and Beyonce stepped on ha toes...and she LET her.
  5. Absolutely. Xtina has more soul and rawness. She could have been the counter to Britney's ex as the blue eyed soul of her generation. 1997- Her label tried and failed to launch her off of a soundtrack song. 1998 - Britney opens the floodgates revamping and remodernizing teen pop thanks to the adult blueprints of Madonna, Janet, Cher and Paula. 1999 - Christina debuts with a teen pop song she doesn't want to represent her but it's great to create a teen fanbase. 1999 - People are telling her to go more urban including Snoop Dogg. 2000 - She puts out a latin and xmas album. She had pockets of opportunities to own a throne. She was never going to outdo Britney as she didn't change the game. However, while people were blaming Beyonce for breaking up the girl group she was overexposed and disliked in 2001-2002 and then Jay z gave her street cred. Xtina could have put out a Back to basics album before Amy W or Beyonce went solo and she'd been seen as innovative. 2002 - Instead, she wanted to copy Pink using Linda Perry and was all over the place. While Stripped is iconic it was poorly timed. She's just an icon but what would have made her a legend: 1999 - C.A. minus I turn to Celine Dion's leftovers as a single. She should have put out a ballad more original to her. 2001-2002 - before Beyonce debuted solo and was liked again, Amy came out with Frank or even little Ashanti had her two year crossover run, she should have released Back to basics Overall, serving blue-eyed soul alongside Britney's ex to counter Beyonce and Usher was the plan the industry had for her and had she done it her career would have been massive. After faling to outsex Britney, she didn't even give Beyonce a run for her money for urban crossover pop, tried to copy Pink and Pink outsold and dominated the pop rock era and then didn't do enough in the latin pop world making Shakira's run easily unmatched. So, in conclusion, Pop throne - Failed. It's Britney btch R&B/Urban crossover throne - Failed. To the left to the left every plan you had in the box to the left. Pop/rock throne - Failed. There you go looking pitiful just because I let you have 'Beautiful' which was a setup. Xtina is beautiful. She should have let Pink's well...not so beautiful looks take it and then all the attractive and unattractive girls would have had a true anthem. Latin pop - Failed. Whenever, whereever you wait until the late 2010s/early 2020s to release latin pop albums and expect it to stick like Shakira's...chile boo. Short story long: yes, she should have listened to Snoop Dogg when he told her to go the urban route.
  6. A six-peat of #1 singles was on the table: Fergalicious - Clumsy - Here I come ft a rapper - Glamorous -Big girls don't cry - All that i got ft a sing songy rap and it would have been the original Teenage Dream.
  7. The song is fine but hte video is a disaster. She had Drive, 4x4, FU and Do my thang just waiting
  8. Yes, album cuts were very popular to play as radio only singles. It would hype us up to believe the song they played would have a video. Janet's state of the world had no video but was played a lot of radio. Lil kim's Big momma thing was a big urban radio staple but had no video.
  9. Britney: Born to make u happy (in the US), What u see is what you get, Breathe on may, Shattered glass, Unusual you, How i roll, Seal it with a kiss, up n down, Just luv me, Better Rihanna: Watch n learn Cardi: I do, Better than you, Don't do too much JLO: Walking on sunshine, Lovin you, Still, Cherry Pie, Step into my world Janet: Come on get up, You ain't right,
  10. Where's lovin you and still?
  11. Nope. He's not seen as a great rapper. His delivery and flow are great, and he's a great entertainer, but he's never been in the hip hop community's top 10 GOAT.
  12. Bjork, Hole and Lana. End thread.
  13. GGGB and Anti are undeniable Loud, Rated R and Unapologetic are debatable
  14. The true list: Britney originator of modernizing teen pop for the millennium Pop Wannabe/followers: Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore and WIlla Ford R&B Wannabes: Nivea, Christina Milian and Ashanti Exes: Justin Timberlake Antis: Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, Pink and Vanessa Carlton Answers: Alicia Keys, India Arie Once Britney became the first multiplatinum female teen to successfully transition into a multiplatinum adult artist she opened the door for others to follow: Miley, Rihanna, Taylor, Selena, Ariana and Demi
