Ariana Grande - 'petal'
The live versions really elevate the songs. It's a shame she didn't sing like that on the studio recording

Stray Kids. Same group that blocked Wicked last year.
- Ariana always chooses the right lead single for her album, thoughts?

2026 US Midterms Megathread 🇺🇸 Dem Primaries: KS, MI, MO, VA, WA (8/04)
Most politicians (including on the left) just look at public transit as a jobs program and/or something only for poor people. It's never going to be a priority because most live in car-centric cities that force them to drive everywhere. But yes, it would be nice to see them advocate for more funding and state capacity to improve systems across the country. Although considering the biggest public transit policy on the left right now is "free buses," we have a long way to go...

The announcement yesterday has kinda ruined this era for me tbh. Announcing a hiatus during release week and stepping away from a project more than 6 months away... it's clear that something bigger is going on regardless of what she's saying publicly. It's hard to care about the music/charts/promo at this point. I just hope she's able to truly take the time to reflect and heal from everything that has happened the past few years.

Just finished another listen and it’s not bad but I just don’t understand a lot of decisions made here. The vocal filter (?) on Kiss Me, no big vocals at the end of Petal, the lack of an outro on Stay, the short chorus on Big Feelings, the (unnecessary) stacked vocals on Like I Do… and the constant airy vocals just make a lot of the songs blend together despite this being by far her most sonically interesting album. I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but her vocal delivery actually flattens a lot of the songs here… Lyrically I’m not really getting “feral” at all. Where is the rage? I wish she hadn’t ever said that because I was expecting much more direct lyrics and they actually feel more vague than her other albums. It may be time for her to branch out and work with other songwriters if she refuses to go back to Tommy/Victoria/Tayla. Overall it’s a good album, but it doesn’t really feel fully realized. 7.5/10, for now. Favorites: Stay, Big Feelings, Like I Do, Never Get Over Me- Ariana Grande - 'petal'
I’ll give this another listen tomorrow but on first listen I’m just… whelmed? The production is mostly great but you can barely understand her on some songs. And I don’t know why she keeps using these whisper vocals when she has such a wide range. I don’t think I’d be mad if she lost Max’s and Ilya’s number tbh.- Ariana Grande - 'petal'
Positions playing on Petal Radio right when I posted, whew this classic- Ariana Grande - 'petal'
Really hope this is trolling because Positions remains her best lead And the actual lyrics make complete sense, can't say the same for HTIMYLM I fear- Ariana Grande - 'petal'
Yeah, while I appreciate that she's taken a much bigger role in songwriting lately I kinda wish she'd just put that energy into the vocals and melodies. Her songwriting comes off a bit messy at times and having someone help polish it would improve the song overall. I will never understand how "why you so hate to see women endure?" was approved. Everytime, Better Off, Needy, In My Head, Ghostin, etc have much stronger lyrics/messages than HTIMYLM imo, which I believe were all written by her and a few other people. I'm glad she's proud to show off her songwriting but yeah... hopefully the production surprises on Petal.- 2026 US Midterms Megathread 🇺🇸 Dem Primaries: KS, MI, MO, VA, WA (8/04)
They need to start campaigning together at this point. It's definitely a long shot but the momentum is clearly on their side- DWAS returns to Spotify top 20; outstreaming Xtina's entire own catalogue. Shocked?
