Compliments you don't like receiving

Featured Replies

Inspired by Olivia Dean — I kinda like it when you call me "wonderful".

Talk to me. Do you have compliments you don't like hearing?

"You're nice" Idk it just feels devoid of personality and description of who I am and feels basic

"You look younger than you are!" idk, it feels like a read even when it's not. Was I supposed to rot at 30?

That I am so tall.

It's hard for bottom like me to be taller than most tops and I don't like it because most tops will be insecure about that. It messes up my dating life suburban

"How are you still single!?"

Girl don't ask if I don't have the answer 😭

You look like jesus because of my long hair and beard

i hate it so much

There's a girl at my uni that always compliment my skin and teeth and I hate it

But were she a hot guy I wouldn't mind xtinass

I don't take compliments on looks very well. Saying stuff like "it looks like the gym is paying off" or "you look good" doesn't bother me that much, but if you are trying to flirt and you talk about my arms, legs, etc… I just don't like it.

you're good looking for someone from your *insert race, ethnicity

you don't look like*insert race, ethnicity

I hate traveling sometimes cause the amount of microaggressions disguise as backhanded compliments I got rip

Anything about my physical appearance or traits or d. Like *****, I didn't have to do anything about it. It just happened. I prefer compliments about things I've worked on or created instead

My friend told me the other day "oh wow! My friends actually liked you!"

I said, "you know, you have to stop being surprised that people like me. That's kind of insulting."

"your hair is so… voluminous! I'm envious of its volume! jewfro vibes!"

okay? I get it. I have Jewish heritage, my hair is curly and big and since it's long it stands out. come up with something else. call it pretty or beautiful or anything like that. voluminous feels so f*cking backhanded like you think I look messy and unkempt idk it reminds me of my mom telling me I need to tame my hair and sh*t and that people will look at me funny. a lot of my self-esteem issues really do boil back down to my mommy issues rip
