I've noticed a very interesting, very unserious trend where people—both here and on the vast plains of the internet—wake up every morning and say: "Ah yes. Time to drag miss Avallah Amanda Koci." Like it's a scheduled drag fest.

We are always screaming "we want pop girls giving POP," "bring back generic bops," "I miss fun music," "I just wanna shake ass in a walmart aisle," etc. But the SECOND Ava Max does exactly that? Suddenly shes a flop and a GAGA copycat, be serious gays.

Even when Cirkut wins a Grammy and goes out of his way to congratulate Ava's ex-boyfriend-stealing, manipulative, lying, ex-best-friend, sheep-in-wolf's-clothing Madison Love… people STILL somehow spin it into "lol Ava flop." Like bisch? That girl was the VICTIM and y'all said "anyway let's laugh." Insane behavior.

And can we stop pretending Ava's music hasn't saved at least ONE of your bad days? Don't lie. She's gotten us through gym sessions, car rides. Sis has BOPS. For. DAYS. No sad piano ballads dragging on for 6 minutes—just straight, gay POP. Is it basic? Yes. Does it slap? ALSO YES.

So what is the beef?? Why do we hate Ava Max specifically?? She's talented, she minds her business, and she feeds the pop girlies consistently. Like… what did she personally do to YOU?

I actually think a lot of people on here enjoyed D&D. It was the endless delays and mediocre single choices for her third album that turned a lot of people off. By the time the album came around no one cared anymore (and it's pretty forgettable).

I think it's due to oversampling. However, I love Ava Max

people have a lot of wrong ideas about her. she samples much less than many beloved pop girls and her music is really excellent if you dig deeper. unfortunately, many prefer to go for a quick drag as it brings them internet points or whatever.

I don't think it's hatred or anything like that.

the biggest hurdle for Ava is that people just don't care about her as an artist + nobody takes her seriously.

personally I enjoy a couple of songs from her (Naked, Maybe You're the Problem), but even those are kinda faceless.

Her music is more palatable than that other Woman's for sure.

She's incredibly generic and has a very, very poignant track record for sampling.

Both things brand her as uncreative and uninteresting. Too bad because I like her and know she has more unsampled songs, but I think toothpaste is outta the tube now.

I find it ironic people always seem to conflate the amount of sampling as a means to discredit her.

She's got about 60 released tracks and 14 of them are samples. The most egregious use of sampling being songs done by a DJ / producer that she add lyrics to and are often droplets. Only about 6-8 of them are songs don't qualify for that.

Likewise, her most recent album contains no sampling at all and yet she is dug through the mud and it has been received the poorest of all of her albums (not that critics even bothered to rate it) and done poorly commercially as well, doing less than 100,000 daily streams. Done without Cirkuit, who was the one producing her music and using samples in her discography specific songs. Yet he is praised and wins a Grammy while she is the one criticized for sampling like girlie is the one producing her records. Have you seen how she types?

Her discography is full of the kinds of songs that people on ATRL are constantly begging their favs to go back to. I really don't get it.
