i feel like the issue with the statement about "appeasing someone" is that it kinda downplays the issue of antisemitism as a whole. like, Mamdani playing a political game is not a bad thing inherently, especially if this would help battling discrimination. and that user's description of this as something pointless and whataboutism do not help in explaining their point
