Her discography is full of the kinds of songs that people on ATRL are constantly begging their favs to go back to. I really don't get it.

Many artists and producers have said that Ava is super good writer and has a good ear for hits. I think atlantic just blackballed her because of closed doors business with cirkut and madison love.

I don't think people especially HATE Ava Max, she just doesn't inspire passionate dedication. She's an easy target to drag and people are more likely to be harsher with someone they don't stan.

As she is, Ava Max makes perfectly competent dance-pop. That's fine, but there are other artists in the same space and she doesn't really have anything that makes her stand out. A musical artist is more than their output alone - it is their vision, their creative identity that hooks you and gives you reason to invest emotionally in them. What about her output says "Only Ava Max could have made this record"? It's the same problem the other Albanian girlies have (well, Dua pre-FN).

In a genre not built on sampling like hyperpop or glitchcore 25% of an artist's released output having some kind of sampling is a lot. She may not be producing the tracks herself, but she is signing off on attaching her name to them. Her songs aren't transformative enough to feel like she's not piggybacking off of an already familiar and established hit. Don't Click Play flopping this hard compared to her collabs with DJ/producers and previous work with sampled tracks suggest that it's the production that's doing the heavy lifting, not her as an artist.

The mismanagement doesn't help, but bad rollouts and delays are just insult added to injury. The real problem is nobody was checking for new Ava Max material in the first place.
