Not only is that… not true. It's a pretty wildly inappropriate response to valid concerns about why moderators find it acceptable to hide a very politically relevant topic in a Megathread (with no mention in the title) in an attempt to protect Taylor Swift.

I don't even participate in discussions about Taylor and even I clocked that. It's so disingenuous to act like that wasn't done on purpose to sweep it under the rug.

I honestly don't really care about mod bias and stuff (it is a Stan forum after all and it's not that serious) but I'm genuinely shocked that the threads about the ice detention owner at Taylor's wedding are being hidden or merged.

It's super disheartening tbh, and this isn't an attack in the entire mod team (like I totally understand you guys do this for free and not everything goes smoothly) but it just feels so obvious and strange.

This whole situation is being handled appallingly. Now the thread is allowed, but the title keeps being changed to remove mention of Taylor and his role with ICE. Instead, laying any blame on her husband despite… no evidence of who invited him.

I almost never call out moderating, as I appreciate how challenging it is, but this is not how you handle this.

This is probably my first time in forever visiting this section. But damn the vague title changes and megathread mergers. I also have to agree this is handled appallingly.

It was asked for a separate thread on the matter (which I agree) and it was given.

Now the title has also been changed to reflect both of their names.

Well, even after changing the title to what was asked, there are still complainers. The title is staying as it is now and I hope people find it in them to stop complaining about everything.

Thank you for being open-minded about the notion that even the best of the best faves are still fallible people, and that doesn't preclude them from being called out for truly objectionable actions. We can keep the same energy for any of our faves being even tangentially-involved with fascism because it is the anti-thesis to what we are here to celebrate, popular music.

thank you @Dear Reader for restoring some balance in moderation decisions and openly explaining those decisions!

as for the rest of the mod/s involved in the Taylor wedding/ICE contractor invitee mess... is there some section of moderation handbook you can read re: bias? changing thread titles to be deliberately provocative and mass moving posts to suit your own ideology is not good moderation.
