Piss On Me is cheap as ****, 911 has no personality, Disease makes no sense in a non-amusing way

Abracadabra is good but not John Wayne good

I have zero memory of the JW MV, nor of it being a single

Utterly forgettable and Mayhem outdoes with ease

Im obsessed with her Grammy performance! God, it is now like one of my top ten Gaga performance. This version of Abracadabra is so fresh and amazing. Even when she doesn't do much dancing , her talent, charisma and energy is something else. Truly she is one of a kind. No one could do it but her agaycatabra

that post was unhinged but yesterday I was kinda thinking that disease doesn't make sense. The lyrics are probably going over my head. What exactly is the narrator trying to say? On the surface it seems to be identical to The Cure - a lover (Gaga) being an antidote to pain/disease. But the song is about Gaga's demons, no? Is she singing to her demons, i.e. she is saying she can cure them (or cure herself)? Or are her demons singing to her - but aren't her demons the disease itself? So are her demons saying they can cure themselves?

I know this conversation is 1.5 years too late, but I'd love to know your takes/interpretations. I can't make sense of it.

I think its her unrestrained, hedonistic & sometimes self destructive side ("Gaga") speaking to the stifled version of herself thats been self hating and trying to be something that she's not. So, the "Disease" is really just her hunger to be the Gaga we know. She's been suffering trying to supress it, and now this other side of her is persuading herself to give into the ~Mayhem~ since thats what makes her who she is, and she'll feel relief when she gives in. Thats how I understand it gayhemcat

I feel like the success of MAYHEM at this stage in her career probably liberated her mentally from needing to "get another hit" — Or at least I hope. Abracadabra at the GRAMMYs was definitely less of a "mainstream" approach to the song.

I hope she surprises us more. The more she does these kinds of things, the better it works for her. Because the public sees her as something of a different kind, she's already respected as a singer; there's no denying that. Going too Mainstream doesn't do anything for her at this point. People also see her as a unifying figure because she's creative, talented & kind. They also view her as an aspirational artist whom they can escape to.

Gaga is in the middle ground of being mainstream, avant-garde and indie, all in one.

Well how exciting for you that you can go onto Gaga's YouTube channel and experience one of her best music videos as if watching it for the first time right now.

the bridge is something Gaga would do.

But she reminds me of Kesha, lyrics wise...

Why don't Gaga celebrate 10th, 20th or 30th anniversary of an old album by releasing unreleased songs, demo, original mix,...etc. ?

Her vault tracks are awesome. I pity for them never seeing the light of the day. chick3

I think her vocal delivery of the chorus is very Gaga-like too suburban

I want her to make an album similar to the cover of 'Won't You Be My Neighbour?' she posted. Just beautiful, rich, vocals and a piano. Obviously it can have uptempo ballads as well, but the overall approach is softer yet harder with real instruments and vocals. When she spends years working and processing pop albums, the end result isn't her full potential. She needs an album full of ballads to achieve solo success and win album of the year

No more compression?

No. I disagree. A lot of us love her pop oontz oontz poppers induced music than AC ballads or jazz.

We don't care much about charts tbh. Of course some really are obsessed with it but her streaming power is improved a lot lately, so she's gonna be fine.

Take an example of Abracadabra, its streaming statistics are still good. That's all.

We grow up with darkpop dancepop Ga, so idc if how many times she's reheating her nachos. She's very much confident to go back to her roots than she did in early days of her career

does anyone have that iconic photo of her where she's sticking her tongue out? back in the OG Disease thread people would caption it like "catch the Disease" or something sherlock I can't seem to find it anywhere!

The way this narrative is going viral in multiple videos on tiktok and also twitter. And it's not even the first time. Good for her! Madonna's legacy in particular will always be tainted by how she treated Gaga.

Paparazzi being only 30,000,000 streams away from a billi is insane. jonny

The third track from The Fame to hit 1 billion+ streams and her third from the 2000s. That has to be some kind of a record?
