they tend to go hand in hand with her though. her fans will NOT support things that feel phoned in and the public seems to only want to check out stuff that is acclaimed so idk. at this point, she should just go all in with her music and I think the rest will work out in some way.

Never ever judge the status of a pop star based on a soundtrack song. It never works that way.

Judging from how big Mayhem was and Abracadabra, her next lead single will have a much bigger chance at smashing than she's had in a very, very long time.

No one cares about OSTs ASIB spoiled us but, just look at the recent Taylor song. It did amazing numbers but still less than a third of what her studio album songs debuted with. And it'll likely drop off a cliff. It's no indication.

There are plenty of successful soundtrack songs. Look at Love me like yo do, the biggest hit of Ellie Goulding's career. Or I don't wanna live forever, for a long time Taylor's biggest hit. A soundtrack song can absolutely do amazing, if it clicks. Let's not even mention the dua and billie songs from barbie

Yes there are exceptions but it's not an indicator of the artists pull in general and most tank.

Still can't believe they left Garden, Vanish, How Bad, Lovedrug, Zombie and Shadow to die.

The way any of these would've been a good single option and be around at least 300M streams by now. Hopefully her next era will have more singles.
