Spotify | Miley - Bass Persuades | Day 9: OUT
"Kids don't wanna dance" was a bitter lyric imo. Invite them to dance! Isn't the fanbase also upset that she didn't promote it?

Gaga overtakes Billie's BOAF for most streamed song by a lead female. Surprised?
these stats are getting confusing lol. Subtle difference of "of" and "in", i guess. What was song received the most streams in 2024?

Why do Twitter gays hate Tate but love Addison so much?
The appeal of Addison sometimes gives Nicki working with Ice Spice. Meaning Addison is so unthreatening, it doesn't cost a thing to lift her up. That is if you're playing into the zero sum game Tate has the MAGA thing as reason to dislike her, but another is that she does have at least a little talent

Bruno: "Gaga grabbed paper and pen and wanted to write down, a true songwriter"
You're creating a requirement and then making a judgement based on your own opinion. It's the definition of circular. You're not dealing in reality, you're dealing in Stan brain rot. Gaga is on the song and it's huge, get over it.

Bruno: "Gaga grabbed paper and pen and wanted to write down, a true songwriter"
Pretending Gaga has nothing to do with the song's success is so silly. On another note, from a non-sycophantic musician, this quote reads like satire. "I've never worked with a musician who understood chord progressions" Is he trolling? If we were in a less brain dead world this would be commentary / shade on how stars need to do the bare minimum to receive praise

What was the exact moment you unstanned a former fave?
You know what though, who cares? I feel like this is unreasonably looked down upon. I find stanning success is less weird than the parasocial loyalty that's expected of fans. Blockbusters and cultural shifts are exciting. That is a huge part of why Gaga was so cool. She was pushing the envelope AND becoming a household name.

What was the exact moment you unstanned a former fave?
ARTPOP was corny The 5"2 documentary really rubbed me the wrong way… BPD. Her quote about capitalism and art made me completely mistrust her This skincare company sealed the deal But really it was the feeling that she didn't actually care for anything she seemed to care about during TF(M). I thought she had a really interesting perspective on fame and art, but it all started becoming contrived and overly sentimental from artpop on. Chromatica was fine

Confessions II departs the Billboard 200 after 5 weeks
Why did u write this thread this way,.. major ick Anyway I guess it's normal, the kids don't know Madonna and the parents are more likely to feed them more clean-cut legacy acts. Learned nothing about Madonna when I was growing up, but MJ, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Bee Gees were always played. Was fun discovering her myself, but it took effort. Album is so good tho

'you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love' outstreaming 'petal', why?
Mods should ban threads with "why" in them. Probably the worst parts of this website made by the worst, least creative people

Ariana Grande — petal review thread | Metacritic: 67 (+1) | AOTY: 64 | Pitchfork 6.5
In my 15 years of following this sort of thing, I've never seen such an outlandishly incorrect critic response

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
This is top tier. Sometimes it's a very good sign when an artist disappoints their fans. She's breaking free and growing out of the space she's already carved out so much success in. 8/10, some of the musical ideas are overly recycled. Sometimes this is cohesive, other times it's unimaginative

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
Is there one track without the straight duration staccatos lol It sounds monotone because she does the same thing on every song. It's fine if her vocals are tempered, but not if the vocals do the same thing on every track
