It's ok, unfortunately I'm not obsessed with it.

I feel like there's some amnesia going on in here, because if it's not a brain dysfunction then surely you remember who the **** Robyn is and how she has continually evolved and experimented her entire career.
 

The super stripped back visuals + her returning to a familiar sound (with a song she's openly saying isn't even new) feels very intentional to me. And it's also different for her — her signature electronic sound juxtaposed with this very human aesthetic is atypical. But at the same time, the human vs. robot narrative has been laced in her music since she started her own label, so it's also like this is epitomizing everything she's ever been about, while also being just different enough to give the vibe that something else is going on.
 

Surely people heard the bonkers runway mix she did at Paris fashion week just 1 month ago. Surely people remember her dropping Missing U then curve balling with the rest of Honey. Surely people remember her randomly tossing an out-of-place acoustic version of Hang With Me on Body Talk 1 only for her to run with that song in full horsepower as the lead for BT2, and then 'do it again' () with Indestructible. Surely people remember how massive that whole trilogy undertaking was in the first place. Surely surely surely. Or did you lose your damn minds and forget how superior hers has always been? 

 

Acting like she hasn't evolved  To think it's almost 2026 and there exists even a single gay who dares to sling such slander at the dancehall queen. Thick headed behavior.

Robyn is that you

I love this! It's classic Robyn and I think that's exactly what the world needs right now. I am not concerned at all about the supposed lack of progression, because I know the rest of the tracks will build on her sound effortlessly. Bring on the album.

I'm so confused. Do people not like Missing U? I think that is an absolutely fantastic song, one of my favourite Robyn songs if not my favourite Robyn song ever. I am in general very unaware about the fan consensus on Honey. Is it not a favourite of theirs?

Incredible lead single for her next pop project. It sounds amazing played loud 

this is very same-y but not in a bad way. this sound is what she's best at and I looooove this. hoping the album comes quickly

This isn't great. I was waiting for that moment it would pop off and it just didn't happen. 

It's okay

listening again after my sleep and I really love this. it's a great evolution of her sound in that there's a newfound minimalism in a different way from past minimalist elements she's explored. the production has the typical 16th note pulsing (which, from Robyn, even inspired me in one of my own songs) which is obviously a key facet of many of Robyn's best songs, but this time the minimalism is most apparent in the progression of the melody. it's not explosive, but that's the point. it's comfortable in its vocal melody, while the production takes on more character when there's some autotune and vocoder and adlibs added on. it's a great bridge between all her 21st century eras. I know people are comparing it the most to Body Talk because that is her main touchstone and the synths are redolent of that era, but I actually get a lot of her self-titled in the bed of this song. it's her most With Every Heartbeatesque song since that song proper. it's not a smash hit, but it's a beautiful Robyn song that instantly feels anthemic and timeless and preparing audiences chiefly for a new phase musically for her imo  Missing U, imo, accomplished something similar like that cause it had her characteristic sound yet sounded more like a mission statement than  an instant hit. it fit perfectly on its album, the title track of that album felt like a hit, and now years later Missing U has started to feel like a hit. that's what's gonna happen with this era too, bookmark me
