I haven't done a lot of reading about it, but the main critique of adoption as a first instance "solution" is that it should not be a first instance solution lol Society should focus on building stronger family/community preservation services. Children should stay within their own families, if not their family than their community, and if there's no way to do that THEN the foster care system/orphanages should be considered. Plenty of adoptees are for adoption, plenty are against it. Like I said, it's a very nuanced conversation, much more than surrogacy, which is objectively buying a baby and thus human trafficking

I don't have to. You can use Google Scholar to read a lot of arguments against (or pro, if that's what you want) surrogacy. Use your reading skills baby

a bby isn't a "gift". it's a human being and women who use surrogates are buying those. most of the anti-adoption industry movement is centered around the strengthening of family preservation services, just google it.

adoption is also (mostly) wrong but that's a more complicated and nuanced conversation to have

there's a plethora of things that aren't illegal but are still wrong lol rich women avoiding the "negative" effects of pregnancy by renting the wombs of women of a lower income class is one of those things. once again, you're entitled to thinking that buying babies isn't a bad thing, but that's probably something you should reflect about

She isn't owed a baby just because she can't get/would have a hard time being pregnant. If she did use a surrogate, she bought a baby. You may think that's not immoral, but that's on you.
