  1. Love. I like how they switch off in the choruses and the ending is excellent
  2. Omg agree. I will forever hate Norah jones for taking her Grammys. Like she at LEAST deserved best new artist wtf
  3. She got everyoneee in my 7th grade class to be little rock rebels. I loved it. But she really did usher in the pop-rock scene, then so many people abandoned her for "real" rockers (good charlotte lol, okay) and by 8th grade I felt like the only Avril fan still standing haha. Her REAL underrated impact was that everyone suddenly learned the word "poser" after she blew up, and they called her that for soooo long (which felt like they were calling ME that, those little sh*ts). I swear I have a PTSD flare up every time I hear that word still. ugh anyway then she started cooking a lot and now she's just rich and lazy and I kinda resent her for it but it's okay
  4. My actual answer is this one hit wonder…I think this song is sexy af, and its proved to be very effective whenever I have a boy over. On a less serious note but still being truthful, every time this song plays I think the world stops spinning to watch me be hot Grab it, ratchet, smack it, good! Up and down, up on that wood! AAAASSSSES UPPPP
  5. Ugh I just knew Robyn was gonna elevate it
  6. I had a female roommate once who I heard rhythmically panting "Okay! Okay! Okay! Okay! Okay!" for sooo long while she got railed. I don't know how to explain how weird it was but I'll never get rid of that echo in my head
  7. For sureeee UMS that was a masterclass in how to follow up a legendary debut. I just didn't enjoy Lights' voice overall either
  8. This obviously isn't happening, but whatever I'll share a theory I secretly hoped for. After the Robyn shade in here, I'm braced for nobody to get my vision BUT… Didnt Zara previously tease Saturn's return with a butterfly or something? I love her but don't stalk her so I could be off about that. Anyway, I thought I saw that somewhat recently, and I always associate butterflies with Mariah. And go figure, Mariah's second Saturn return just started in February while Zara is kicking off her first Saturn return. I thought that could've been a cute moment. But Mariah probably would never age herself so publicly like that, so I knew it was a lost cause. But still. For a moment there, I swear I heard their voices flutter together through the cloud of delusion I live in now
  9. Only listened once but I liked what I heard!
  10. The lack of enthusiastic Robyn mentions these past few pages is very jarring. Are there gay people here or ????
  11. I second Schmitty's! It's a great bar with more of a local vibe, but the music is usually pretty solid and I like the vibes/people. I'm biased though because I live super close to it. It's also just a couple blocks away from all the other bars, so it's usually a fun starting point, then you can walk down to explore more. Motherload if you want to get absolutely wasted for like $5. Or Bar is a little farther down from the main group of bars, but it's more upscale if you're looking for that and some really great (but kinda expensive) cocktails. I don't love the Abbey, but if you're visiting it's usually worth seeing once. Revolver and Mattie's can be a good time depending on the night. Gym bar leans more local, but it's in the middle of everything and the music is solid Hi Tops if you want cute but messy boys who think they're hot sh*t but don't know how to dance
  12. god I just love hearing her again. I don't even have the brain for any sort of critical review or ranking at this point. Imagine how boring the music landscape would sound right now if she didn't start her own label and drop Robyn in 2005.
  13. I want her to take off so bad. I still slide U-Huh on the playlists I make with my friends in hopes they will one day acquire some taste
  14. Do you guys remember in like 2011 when celebrities were constantly doing paparazzi photos with those bedazzled suckers from sugar factory
  15. When Avril first came out it was genuinely life altering for me. I think it was when she started calling her fans 'little black stars' that I was like, oh wait… I'm not whatever the **** that is… And it was downhill from there tbh. She was the primary soundtrack to my middle school & high school anti-everything "coming of age" years, and my first concert, and the first artist all my friends also loved. Her first three albums were an impressive run that not many people achieve, and I really thought she would grow up to be more impactful than she wound up becoming. Now she vacillates between the cringe-tween-hot-topic-girl vibe and the take-me-seriously-I'm-mature-and-divorced vibe, and neither are relatable to me at all. She's so far removed from the artist who originally caught my attention. In 2013/2014 I was the boss of the guy that played her boyfriend in the 'girlfriend' music video. They stayed friends for a few years after he landed that job, but he told me a lot of stories about her that made me lowkey glad I wasn't a stan anymore. But it's a weird and sad feeling when a person & their art can make such an imprint on you, then they just…aren't that person anymore. Ohhh wellllll
  16. Yes!! Every time I bring her up I'm shocked how many people don't remember her, even after playing "I Know" they're like "I like this but never heard it." Makes me feel like I lived in some alternate reality or something
  17. This has become so embarrassing for her. And for all her fans who blindly bought into the RS slop.
  18. You know how some people, especially people who haven't emotionally matured, can get really jealous when their friend gets a new toy, so they start obsessing over their friend's new toy to the point where they pretty much delude themselves into thinking they're entitled to their friend's new toy, as if it's their own toy? But it's not their toy, it's their friend's toy. And they can't stand that, so they break their friend's toy on purpose. The friendship usually ends, and the toy is all messed up now.
  19. NDAs. I've signed two of them. From those two "events" I have walked away with three very specific things I've learned about her that made me despise her. I wiiiiiish I could tell you all what one of her passwords used to be. Or which celebrity's kids are terrified of her and why. Or the major life announcement she absolutely ruined for someone else. Omg she is trash. But the public will never get to hear about those things. Great NDAs.
  20. Love the update overall (granted I'm maybe 5 minutes into it). Thanks to everyone working on it!! My only criticism is really just a personal problem. I did the "app" suggestion to put atrl on my iPhone Home Screen…but I'm a chaotic compulsive tab opener, and the app version doesn't let me open a bunch of threads in separate tabs like I can do just going to the website. Probably not a priority haha, but it helps me during high traffic days or when I haven't been on in a few days and there are lots of threads I wanna devour — if I stick to one tab the active threads change every time I go back to the homepage, and my rotten brain can't recall most of the threads I was excited about wasting my time on. Idk if I'm making great sense right now, I just see invitations for criticism and my adderall just hit so this is the best I got for now! Anyway great work!!
  21. I feel like there's some amnesia going on in here, because if it's not a brain dysfunction then surely you remember who the **** Robyn is and how she has continually evolved and experimented her entire career. The super stripped back visuals + her returning to a familiar sound (with a song she's openly saying isn't even new) feels very intentional to me. And it's also different for her — her signature electronic sound juxtaposed with this very human aesthetic is atypical. But at the same time, the human vs. robot narrative has been laced in her music since she started her own label, so it's also like this is epitomizing everything she's ever been about, while also being just different enough to give the vibe that something else is going on. Surely people heard the bonkers runway mix she did at Paris fashion week just 1 month ago. Surely people remember her dropping Missing U then curve balling with the rest of Honey. Surely people remember her randomly tossing an out-of-place acoustic version of Hang With Me on Body Talk 1 only for her to run with that song in full horsepower as the lead for BT2, and then 'do it again' () with Indestructible. Surely people remember how massive that whole trilogy undertaking was in the first place. Surely surely surely. Or did you lose your damn minds and forget how superior hers has always been? Acting like she hasn't evolved To think it's almost 2026 and there exists even a single gay who dares to sling such slander at the dancehall queen. Thick headed behavior.
  22. Pure, quintessential Robyn. Feels like picking up where we left off. Now I'm so ready for whatever is next. Welcome back queen
  23. I'm gonna throw up, also about to snag those LA tickets for Nov 19!! https://robynkonichiwa.laylo.co/t/UPTaj8/BWMHRKP
  24. Daisy, baby, watch your step Don't take my lead, I leave a mess Daisy, darling, momma's scared I dropped and I flopped, now I hurt everywhere Daisy, hunny, I said I'd look after you But this time it's me who's got the booboo Daisy, ouchie, mommy's not okay How do you put a bandaid on someone who's faded away Ouchieee, owweee Don't take after me Ouchieee, owweee Hope it's not hereditary
