Is Lifetimes Tour underperforming?

Featured Replies

Billboard reported that the tour grossed $80m so far from 53 dates: https://www.billboard.com/pro/katy-perry-posts-big-ticket-sales-lifetimes-tour/

The tour is averaging $1.5m per night (covering US, Australia, Canada which have the highest ticket prices WW).

Arena tours from 12 years ago (not adjusted for inflation)

- Ms Carter Tour (2013) - $1.75m per night

- Red Tour (2013) - $1.75m per night

This comes amid an industry wide boost in ticket sales and prices doubling (or more) for most major artists compared to a decade ago.

  • Making troll threads and beating down Katy at this point is just so stale, dragged out, and cringe at this point.   The tour is actually a pretty good hit tour, especially after the flopping

She's not rivaling a lot of your faves on the Billboard Hot 100 anymore, so what's the point? She's a pop icon now with insane records, streams, sales but not a 2025 mega commercial artist like she used to be. Let her be. 💀

No, it is not.

Welp, let's compare it with the current tours

Gaga: $3.7M
Billie: $2.8M
Dua: $2.5M
Sabrina: $1.6M
Kylie: $1.3M
Tate: $1.2M

:duck:

Well it's obviously not bigger than Mrs Carter or Red, but bigger than Witness that went largely unreported/underperformed so it's not exactly a failure

Yes she's over she's not relevant anymore everybody hates her

that's what u want to hear??

jesus all those payola'd discounted #1s truly doesnt matter in the end :deadbanana2:

Well her Numbers are indeed nothing especial considering her fans are getting brave on Twitter

It's doing mid numbers obvi, but considering how hard katy flopped I guess it's okay.. the thing is that she hasn't toured since 2017 which largely contributed to these mid numbers.. :rip:

People acted like she would need to cancel the tour and could never perform in arenas again. Its not some gigantic career defining success, but it's still a success.

I think shes doing fine for herself considering how panned the album was both critically and comercially

I actually think the fact that she is selling out a lot of the arenas proves that she does have a stable fan base and that she is indeed an icon - especially if you take into consideration the floppery of her projects since literally 2016 (!!!).

Almost 10 years of nonstop flopation and still selling out Arenas and actually putting on a fun pop show, even a creative one (albeit "cringe" in current standards but who cares, she's a bit of a mess and I think it's endearing actually).

WHILE GETTING A DIVORCE!

Idk about you, but I'm impressed.

We need to just collectively agree that we're all going to give Katy this one thing. The tour is doing well. Many of you speculated she'd cancel or perform at half empty venues and now she's looking to reach the 100M mark before even setting foot in Europe. The tickets are not super expensive and she can't afford to over charge at this point but this tour is the best possible outcome

Many here affirmed that she would've cancel the entire tour, now we swapped to the "underperformance", y'all are (ehm… let me say) funny !

After all what happened in 143 era this tour is doing great, proving once again that, no matter how press/socials want to discredit her figure, real people know that she's an icon and she always puts on great shows! Furthermore, she and her team reasonably played safe with the dates, but atp we know she could've done more stadiums dates too, especially in Asia. There's demand, but probably she's happy with that and want to take some rest before restarting from the ground with the next era.

So again, no, it's not.

lmao posting this on that other thread wasn't enough for you huh it's really not that serious

Yes it's underperforming if you compare to her peers or other legacy acts (Justin Timberlake etc) but no she has been through a lot let's just cut her some slack okay?

If the tour is looking to approach/surpass the Witness tour (with the 143 era being a bigger failure than the Witness era), then how can you say it's flopping? :toofunny3:

the backlash lmao

no the tour is not underperforming, as evident by the gross majority of the shows being sold out, her already selling 1.1M tickets with only 50 something shows and still having 35 shows left. her stadium shows in China literally sold each within 1 minute each.

First y'all thought she would cancel the entire thing, and now it's underperforming?

only ATRL would call a tour doing 150M in revenue a flop
