I kinda think she's in the same place Katy Perry was after Witness. Both alienated a lot of an already GP heavy fanbase, and put out subpar records that didn't really stick around like their previous releases. Doja still has a bit more cool factor than Katy in 2017, so if she doesn't take a long break and puts out a bubbly pop leaning single by summer she'll have another hit or two.

If you look outside of the mainstream girls there's plenty of fun upbeat music out this year

This is exactly how I reacted when Woman's World came out. If anyone knows that saying "it's bad intentionally in a satirical way" is a bold faced lie, it's a Katy Perry stan.

Imagine being in the label meeting where Taylor would've had to describe Cleveland! as intentionally bad with the goal of making people angry, right at the beginning of both and Oscar and Grammy campaign.

People justifying Cleveland as "rage bait" is absoluetly hilarious. Taylor's been toying with that concept for decades. The difference is that we used to get some of the best pop songs of the 21st century that were full of satirical commentary on her criticisms (Blank Space, LWYMMD, and even Anti-Hero -- to an extent). There's a very obvious regression stemming from having virtually nothing left to say. Taylor Swift, the brand, has eclipsed Taylor Swift, the artist, and thus the same concepts/themes that made her so successful are continuously reiterated, and now we're left with, "my h8rs are just jealous a REAL MAN picked ME and took me to OHIO!! xD".

She looks great, but it's not really giving single or album cover idk. VERY intrigued that it's a clear departure from the Showgirl aesthetic though, so I'm reluctantly getting my hopes up that it's gonna be amazing.

Idk why she wouldn't have just called up Amazon and made it a streaming exclusive or something. A one day only theatrical release for a tour that was over like a year ago always seemed strange to me
