Hold up let me presave this album. I definitely hear the SnS and even Manchild vibes, but I'm here for it (and this is much better than Manchild imo).

it has a good 80's vibe but not as good as Espresso. could be a grower for me and be a hit.

From playing the Spotify preview, I literally thought i was listening to Manchild

Not bad, but not overwhelming catchy like Espresso. 

Jealous Type is the next Espresso, the latter being the next Say So. Matter can neither be created nor destroyed.

Part of what propelled espresso was her coachella debut performance of it, coachella isn't everything but the coachella performance of espresso and for chappell her coachella performance is what helped propel them both

 

So no this song is not the next espresso. That song had a lot of rollout going for it, coachella debut performance, talk show performances, award show performances

I hear it, tbh. You can sing the "Well I like men playin' hard to get..." bridge really easily over the synth beat.

 

OT: The song is fine. Nothing to really write home about, though.

Production is infectious, but vocals and lyrics are not doing it for me (chorus is especially weak imo)

this is very generic to the current disco synth- abusing pop sound and as many have said, basically lifts off manchild at times 

you can do the sound without sounding this generic

Lyrics are mid as hell too 

Pretty faceless

its a well made song but that's as far as it goes imo
