It's one of the most universally loved songs ever? Only edgy I'm not like the others people pretend to hate it

It's not hated, but it's definitely mocked for being THE song for guitar-playing boys at parties. "Anyway, here's Wonderwall" and all that.

 

OT: It's alright, but Live Forever deserves its status.

i do find it a bit cringe (it's the 'beautiful things' of its era) but it's not that bad. my problem with oasis is more that they'll be sold as "real music" or whatever by the indie bros when in all honesty they're pretty basic stuff, it's fine but they can spare me the "authenticity" lecture

Yep any song that gets middle aged straight men going is a big fat no from me. Let's throw Hey Jude and Come On Eileen on the pile as well.

Being from the UK, I don't hate the song itself, but I dislike the genre of crowd the song attracts. 

I can't stand his voice. I would like the song if a pop girl sang it like Billie

well i'm brazilian and this song is not hated at all, it's a loved classic. 

 

i can't vote on ur poll cuz if i vote that it's overhated i'll be saying that it's hated without deserving to be hated (but it's not hated at all here), and if i vote it's not i will be kinda saying it deserves to be hated, so...

Hated? It's a timeless classic, like, literally the definition of a CLASSIC. What are you on about, mate?

No, I'm from the US. I really like this song and feel like it evokes a really sweet feeling. I never understood the hate for this song. I suppose the vocal styling is a bit "whiny" or moody for lack of a better word but I enjoy that about this song as well.

 

I also really like "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" by Oasis, as well as a couple other songs from the Wonderwall album (can't remember the name).

 

Better and not as played out as songs like Don't Stop Believin for example.
