True, but overall the Grammys didn't seem to like Melodrama much:

 

In the pop genre she got zero nominations.

She did get an AOTY nomination, but then the Recording Academy decided that she wouldn't be invited to perform any of the Melodrama tracks. How many times this century has there been at least one woman nominated for AOTY and no female AOTY nominee was invited to perform her music?

apparently she was invited to perform in a tribute performance. I'm not sure if this was the original plan, or whether they offered this later so they could claim that there weren't snubbing her, but they were clearly snubbing her album.

Bonus: at the end of the night, the Recording Academy said the 'Women Need to Step Up'.

the instrumental literally has a similar pattern to Shapeshifter  and the lyrics has a similar vibe too

 

same with Invisible Ink's lyrics

Anyways the other I was listening to Current Affairs and I wondered if she was singing "I think he's gon blame it on current affairs", "I think he's gone, blame it on current affairs" or both. Turns out it's actually both cause in the booklet it's written like this: "I think he's gon(e,) blame it on current affairs".

 

Let's hear it for the songwritter of the year 

Every listen makes me like it more, and it's just a perfect listen. 34 minutes, no pausing, no nothing. I just finished it again and wow. Oh Lorde…

Prison, honey

 

Cute album, probably my least favorite from her though. The production doesn't go far enough as it should and the mixing makes it feel very 2D, which makes the whole experience just very... mid. Nothing really stands out but the more I listen, the more I like. I think the back half is stronger.
