I only like the songs where Ella Marija sings

Vocally this album is her best by MILES omg the way she played with her voice in this album really gives me the feeling that she meant by saying "this album is very physical"

I think a lot of tracks are going to be important to fans in different ways, so no one should be offended by someone else's rankings.

 

Man of the Year - gender identity and self-discovery
David - end of a relationship when there might have been abuse or a power imbalance
Shapeshifter and Current Affairs - sex/hooking up, also Shapeshifter is about the roles we play in our lives in general
Hammer - more sex
Broken Glass - eating disorders
Clearblue - pregnancy/fear of pregnancy

 

For some people, probably quite a lot of her female fans, the last two might be very important, depending if they have been through those experiences, and when she has millions of followers, there are going quite a lot that have.

I'm very much enjoying the new album by Lorde, I think for me it is her best album.

 

It may not have her BEST tracks of all time, for me those would be; Mood Ring, Sober, Homemade Dynamite, Liability and a few others.

 

However this is the first Lorde album where I have liked every track. It's a good blend of upbeat and slow/moody tracks and I think the lyrical direction of this album as well as the aesthetic and overall vibe make it her coolest album.

I love the album. It's practically skipless to me. I only don't really care much for Favourite Daughter.

 

I'd rate the album a solid 8/10
