Featured Replies

does any song on here have the sort of depressive but catchy and jingly nostalgia that White Teeth Teens has, or at least touch on a similar vibe? :ryan2:

ijbol remember when Solar Power had no CD bc of her climate activism - she said F the planet for this album, we cheered!

  • new track in 3 days.

  • I believe Melodrama remains her magnum opus, but Virgin sounds absolutely incredible. It's the Lorde we know, yet it also feels incredibly refreshing. In Hammer, she mentioned, "I might be born again,

Okay listened in full and honestly, the album is very solid. My top three:

What Was That

If She Could See Me Now

Shapeshifter

so good!

I really liked Solar Power and never got the lashings, but this feels like a legit return to form :clap3:

Shapeshifter might be her greatest song ever...I'm deadly serious... oh WOW!! :jonny5:

As someone who already liked the 3  singles they sound even better in the context of the album as we expected :clap3: Let me give it a second listen with headphones and reading the lyrics

I'm listening to that Morning Love song to hear the sample before listening to the album tonight lol and it's a cute bop :celestial:

She felt like a gay man with a toxic relationship with Grindr the day she wrote this

But I keep dancing till I get sick
Why'd you have to dream so big?
Why did no one listen when you hit the notes from your heart?

Not her calling her mother a flop :sabrina:

am i the only one here that thinks current affairs kinda sounds taylor coded, like the way her vocals in the second/final verse just flow like taylor's would. instant fav off the album. very brat:ducky:

"Shapeshifter" shaping up as a career highlight and quintessential song of the album instantly.

Loved it

The last line of the album is so Pure Heroine coded… She even referenced the album in that song :weeps:

On first listen Shapeshifter, Current Affairs, and David all feel like discography highlights but I'm sure more will turn up when I listen again in the morning

this is no where near the levels of melodrama and pure heroine (i wasn't expecting it to be from the singles either)

however, a nice welcome return, production can really let this down at points though

This is nice but I'm a bit worried cause there's like no career highlights here. :chick3: Hoping it grows!

current affairs being a lorde take on ciao bella oh wow best song ever

I really enjoyed my first listen. I want to see how it grows on me with a couple of listens.

So far, my top 3 songs are:

David

If She Could See Me Now

Shapeshifter

Pleasant listening experience on first play, but I know Lorde's music takes time to grow

Though I hope she will change up a bit with her next record though, like try Disco or something more unexpected
