does any song on here have the sort of depressive but catchy and jingly nostalgia that White Teeth Teens has, or at least touch on a similar vibe?

Okay listened in full and honestly, the album is very solid. My top three:

I really liked Solar Power and never got the lashings, but this feels like a legit return to form

Shapeshifter might be her greatest song ever...I'm deadly serious... oh WOW!!

As someone who already liked the 3  singles they sound even better in the context of the album as we expected  Let me give it a second listen with headphones and reading the lyrics

I'm listening to that Morning Love song to hear the sample before listening to the album tonight lol and it's a cute bop 

She felt like a gay man with a toxic relationship with Grindr the day she wrote this

Loved it

 

The last line of the album is so Pure Heroine coded… She even referenced the album in that song  

 

On first listen Shapeshifter, Current Affairs, and David all feel like discography highlights but I'm sure more will turn up when I listen again in the morning 

this is no where near the levels of melodrama and pure heroine (i wasn't expecting it to be from the singles either)

 

however, a nice welcome return, production can really let this down at points though

this is easily her best album  PH, Virgin and Solar Power my trinity. I couldn't care less about Midoffdrama, never heard what yall heard on it 

I really enjoyed my first listen. I want to see how it grows on me with a couple of listens.
