Shapeshifter takes me back to the euphoric feeling of Melodrama, she ate that.

ijbol remember when Solar Power had no CD bc of her climate activism - she said F the planet for this album, we cheered!

  • new track in 3 days.

  • I believe Melodrama remains her magnum opus, but Virgin sounds absolutely incredible. It's the Lorde we know, yet it also feels incredibly refreshing. In Hammer, she mentioned, "I might be born again,

Not the Shapeshifter intro sounding like Spyro :rip:

Shapeshifter is giving me Solar Power from the vocal effects but the production :jonny6:

Broken Glass… interesting! Might have to hear that again to see if it'll hit

shapeshifter was not memorable first listen omg

Lowkey I expected something different from other people's reactions. I love the production but the melody isn't standing out to me. Maybe a grower :marshmallow:

Music publications should really release reviews for albums a week after release. Listening to an album a single time is not enough to write a publication about it.

I totally agree! as someone who has reviewed music myself (I quit that f*cking magazine though cause they didn't even pay me ONCE) (see: here for an example of one of my reviews) I made sure to give the album several listens in various perspectives. obviously, for that review^, since Kesha is one of my all time heroes, I made sure to pay close attention to my favorite songs on first listen and compared them with songs on my following listens to ensure that my review would be as accurate to my longstanding opinion on the album as possible! obviously we cannot predict how we'll feel about something with time, but likeeee I still pretty much stand by everything I wrote there :giraffe:

Lowkey MOTY sounds like it should've been the opening or closing track

I did love Melodrama obviously, like I have ears, but from a general sound perspective this is kiiiiinda the album people always kept trying to convince me Melodrama was :gaycat:

The production on Favourite Daughter is fresh for her. These melodies :jonny6:

Well its a good thing you left. I clicked the link, was prompted with a dialogue box asking if I was over 21 for some reason, moved my mouse and was pushed to a Cloudflare page to confirm I wasn't a bot that also wants me to perform for it to confirm. As a web developer, I'm disgusted by these choices to confirm I'm not a bot. Especially since my extension says its a Wordpress site. I hope it rots. Bet the bounce rate is atrocious.

David was cute! Nice outro! I kinda wish we had gotten an extra song between 10 and 11 and that most tracks didn't end that abruptly :dies:

Yes. I totally agree and relate to this. I heard the genius of Melodrama, but it never clicked for me as a whole experience the way it seemed to have for others. It has some of her career highlights in my book, but as an entire experience, I definitely found it good -- but I was missing something that other people were hearing. Whereas, I got Virgin immediately.

I'm actually shocked they're not pushing Favourite Daughter :jonny: this has hit potential imo

omg I KNOW trust me that publication is a hot mess and has been for so long :rip: my roommate/best friend was a journalism major and was actually a full time employee of theirs for a long time even before he got ME that gig, and they were always late paying him and always skirted around actually hiring him as a full time employee because he mainly covered political topics and they were too obsessed with fluff. it was wack! he works for a better publication now, but not as popular of one

Yeah, baby, I wanna be hurt like that
I can feel, don't need fantasy
Oh, God, if she could see me now
