Doesn't the actual lyric re-contextualise this whole saga? Isn't the point that the tape itself, the experience she watched, felt authentic and truthful at the time but the 'film came out' (the tape was leaked) and the experience was transformed into something false and ugly, just like the eroding relationship Lorde is singing about on the rest of the song?

this is GORGEOUS and DEFT stuff from Lorde oh WOW Every single song is gagging me??????? Something new offered in *every* track, each sonically unique, yet it all feels so cohesive and singular. Shapeshifter and Current Affairs and David are *so* special.

idk man I think the melodies here are the best part of this. Genuinely soulful, and they feel synaptic and fibrous in a way that aligns with the "body first" approach Lorde has spoken abt…. like i FEEL the vision. Anyway this one *really* moved me. Dare I say an instant career highlight

Give Luca its dues lol it was the most watched streaming movie of 2021, no? Was honestly a bit embarrassed for Disney/Pixar coming out of Spiderverse 2...animation unlike anything mainstream western family audiences have seen, I just know Bob Iger was panicking in his seat. We're at the point where animation has reached a zenith re ability to approximate real life and the GP are finally opening up to expressive and stylistic animation over realism. The animation in Luca and Turning Red was gorgeous and expressive but I just don't know if there'll be box office juice from audiences for house-style CGI over the next decade...Elio looks lovely but I get the feeling it'll be another flop...Wish too, which looks like Disney have just thrown a tiktok filter over an already rendered movie.

Those first 13 eps of Glee season one are genuinely perfect television and remain his creative peak. (FOX ordering an extended first season was Glee’s death knell, unfortunately.)
