HAIM - 'I Quit'

STTY is underrated for me. I at least wish they'd bring back You Never Knew for the tour, that song is absolute perfection to me

Day 4 of discog re listen was for standalone songs and such.

Pray To God will ALWAYS be that godly bop. The back-to-back of that and Sweet Nothing from Calvin, whew - what a time

Feel The Thunder is cute

Cherry Flavored Stomach Ache is underrated, love the sound tbh, it's better than Take Me Back!

Lost Cause is def meh, but relatable?

Home is pretty good too, wouldn't have minded if they explored this sound more, like pop/electronic vs. going super live-sounding

So excited for tomorrow :jonnycat:

It's good, but I definitely see why critics are calling it a step down from WIMIII. Don't let Alana touch the mic anymore (even though the song is boppy).

The only miss of the four singles is TMB tbh The other three are all very solid and enjoyable, but no wows for me yet. Just a much more lukewarm lead-in to IQ's pre-release vs. WIMPIII's

The sound of the instrumentation is the best part of production and mixes tho tbh which is great considering they said this is how they've always wanted to sound. Like, amazing engineering. CAN'T wait to listen to full album

100%, STTY will probably always be my least favorite album from them but the songs I like from that album I REALLY like (probably helped experiencing the album live, didn't see DAG live sadly), and I think You Never Knew is still my favorite song from them :smitten:

I'm really saddened to say, but this was definitely a bit of a let down on first listen :noparty: I wasn't expecting anything that would rival WIMPIII as their magnum opus (although I was feeling pretty optimistic based on the singles) but this is just middle-of-the-road for the most part. Nothing grabbed me like Relationships or Down To Be Wrong did, and the second half is pretty messy and uneven (Spinning was def a choice :rip: ) The only standout tracks for me are Lucky Stars and All Over Me. We'll see after a couple more listens

this is my favorite thing they've ever done personally -- I really enjoyed Take Me Back if that means anything... will definitely be playing this quite a bit

I want my money back ☠️ requesting a refund and reporting the album... You cannot convince me this is the final album. They accidentally submitted early demos / first drafts or something?! :deadbanana:

Wait I'm so impressed omg. Loving the vocals and how the guitars sound. An easy listening summer sound

Lucky stars will be on repeat

This is really good and mature. Their earlier works may be more accessible, but this is growth and every song feels so true and raw.  I respect how much room they give each other to express themselves

even if you hate the album the singles were an amazing run and so few people can say that these days

What the **** did I just hear

The overreaction. It's a good to great album.

Million years is that magnum opus. Wow.

Lucky stars is a near perfect song, the vocals just needed to be louder.

Loved Alana & Este's solo songs!

Amazing album.

Perfect album. Yet another album of 2025 that might become one of my favorite albums of all time :gaycatina1:

'Try to feel my pain', 'Spinning' & 'Cry' being the holy trinity

I've finished my first listen and I'm really enjoying it! I'll need to spend some more time with it to know how I truly feel, but my initial impressions are really good. It's a very varied record with a mix between their R&B/pop and guitar sound. So I get why some reviews mentioned it feels a bit all over the place. Overall I don't think it's hitting me quite like WIMPIII did tho, it just doesn't quite hit those same highs for me.

Excluding the singles, my favourites tracks are All over me, Lucky stars and Cry.

Million years is ******* INCREDIBLE

Tbf overall it kinda seems like the spiritual sister to STTY moreso than something fresh or even on par with DAG/WIMPIII - take that as you will :deadbanana2:

After the first listen, it doesn't have as many highs as WIMPIII, but I can see myself returning to this one more often...
