Oh STTY... bop after bop after bop with such fun, pop production. This is in no way a bad album - and its only flaw is how repetitive every song is (LOYL is the most absurd, egregious offender). A few "fine" songs are surrounded by several other great songs tho. They just over thought the album way too much, as they themselves admitted, which made the album come out a little less genuinely or organic than DAG and WIMPIII

 

Regardless, so happy she exists

Reading these new reviews definitely increased my hype more. 

i listened thru all four songs today rather than just hearing them on the radio or playing the odd one here and there and they really clicked. down to be wrong has been steadily growing on me but i hadn't been feeling relationships at all and actually now it's all good, they all sit very well together and it feels like a more unified sound than women in music? anyway, not long now

All their albooms are great so I'm expecting at least another very good album

Days Are Gone was pretty good for a debut, sophmore was bad. Women In Music was indeed their best album by far.

Soooo excited to hear Alana's solo song and Este's solo song.

And I've made it to Day 3. Ah, WIMPIII...

 

Imagine saying they've made no great album when this one exists - a deranged claim, obviously

 

This is such a comfort listen for half of it, while the other half brings me back to such a depressing and specific time. Gasoline, IKA, IDW... The singles run leading up to the album was NUTS! And FUBT, too, whew...

 

Just like all the other beloved COVID albums (FN, WYP, SAWAYAMA, folklore, REN...), I do believe WIMPIII set the bar maybe too high for its follow-up; and IQ will still be good and liked, but not as much as its predecessor? We'll see.
