all of the singles are excellent but yeah Everybody's trying to figure me out, as a longtime fan of Modest Mouse, is really special to me 

I think this is going to be my favorite album of theirs

You can already tell All Over Me sounds super bland and formulaic.. Like.... 

 

Ugh this era is just not for me. My least favorite Haim album by FAR may be incoming

not shocked. the singles were a miss. I liked relationships and down to be wrong a little but it still didnt compare to WIMPIII

Oh wow, I think this record is turning out to be fantastic. I love the singles minus the latest one, but I'm so pumped for the full album. 

Based on the singles it's not shaping up to outdo Goddesses in Music. However, 3 out of 4 singles ate in my opinion, so let's not dramatize the situation based on one review (considering she also got an 8 and 10 from two other review).

I've loved all the singles so far 

Relationships and ETTFMO are two of my favourite songs by them so I'm sure I'll at least like the album. 

Yes - they got good reviews from Rolling Stones (US & UK) and 5star review from DIY Magazine.

Rarely do I ever see advance reviews that aren't positive  

 

I'm actually counting days til Thursday, I love every single so far, the last one is very nice. I'm pretty sure the record will have nice surprises and amazing moments.

Prepping for Fri with a full-discog listen, starting with DAG of course... I'm still so impressed by how well it holds up and how enjoyable it is. It's definitely my favorite album of theirs, even if I think WIMPIII is objectively their best album. Just bop after bop --- soooooo good

 

Three bonus tracks are great too

WIMPIII is a once in a lifetime masterpiece, i'm okay with I quit not being as great I still like all the singles so far  and they're all so different i'm excited for what else they got in store

have been enjoying down to be wrong on the radio this week and also, the woman who wrote the guardian review also wrote that awful piece on how there haven't been any geniuses in pop music since the 80s so i'm not convinced it means very much

 

i haven't connected to the songs as much as, say, the steps and don't wanna but i refuse to give up on them yet

Oh STTY... bop after bop after bop with such fun, pop production. This is in no way a bad album - and its only flaw is how repetitive every song is (LOYL is the most absurd, egregious offender). A few "fine" songs are surrounded by several other great songs tho. They just over thought the album way too much, as they themselves admitted, which made the album come out a little less genuinely or organic than DAG and WIMPIII

 

Regardless, so happy she exists
