How is Lover doing 31k units...

Wasnt it pulling those numbers just a few weeks after it came out in 2019 :gaycat6:

Don't Blame Me not being the follow-up to LWYMMD seems more stupid by the day. I love Ready For It but the way it was handled was truly the dumbest move of her career. It was released a week after Look and used for the football commercials, but then was just left to squander ahead of the album release, and by the time it was sent to radio all of its hype had died down :deadbanana4: Don't Blame Me should have been released in late September and could have smashed ahead of the album. I genuinely think it wasn't picked because she was getting so much ridiculously awful press and "Don't Blame Me" would have fed into "she's playing the victim again!"

I always felt like the fanbase hypes Delicate’s impact a bit too much because we were feed breadcrumbs during that time, and Delicate was the only moment we got microwaved food.

Same goes for Lover, the song.

If those two song doesn’t get performed never again we won’t miss it. They ain’t more important to her career than, I don’t know, You Belong With Me or 22.

Yeah this. Delicate Is really forgotten now.

Lover (Song) is doing a lot better but all the folkmore project, an entire project of similar songs, made the song less important.

Without folkmore right now would have became more a fan favourite

Lover's longevity as an album is truly astonishing :deadbanana: The era felt dead by November 2019 and was considered by mostly everyone an underperformance. The fact that it ended up demolishing Thank U Next (and WWAFA but don't tell the OBH) in terms of having the longest tail is just... insane.

It would take a huge chart nerd but I genuinely would LOVE a YouTube video breaking down exactly how her streaming domination and discography renaissance all coalesced after Folklore. It would be so interesting.

Speak Now is (tied with Folklore) legitimately my favorite album ever, I love every single song. They’re all incredible, just something has to be last. :michael:

She should have never released Ready For It prior to the album. Imagine everyone’s reaction to hearing the first 3 tracks back to back by surprise.

Lead Single: Look What You Made Me Do

Promo Singles: Dancing With Our Hands Tied + Call It What You Want

2nd single: Don’t Blame Me

3rd single: Delicate

4th single: Call It What You Want

Tour Video: Ready For It

Instead she made the period from her announcing RFI 1 week after the LWYMMD video until us pressing play on The 1 for the first time the most trying time to be alive in this planet

Wait... you may be onto something. I never thought about it this way but that actually makes sense :rip:

Imagine if she gives us a visual album or movie with rep tv.. IDSB, DBM, SIG, GC, DWOHT all deserved visuals

I know I’m late but I just heard Enchanted TV on TikTok and I know I was tripping because.. why is it so lifeless? Not her sounding like she recorded this before her Sunday morning cup of tea. Emote girlie!! And the production… :biblionny:

This may not be exactly what you're looking for but i recommend everyone to watch those videos if you haven't yet, this girl is retracing Taylor's WHOLE career and her next video may actually explain everything. There it is:

Her next video will be the last and it will cover everything from Folklore to Midnights. Maybe we'll get some answers then.

When she releases Sweeter Than Fiction with the reputation TV cover and says the song was always meant to belong on that album then what

My life will be complete when she releases Crazier (Taylor's Version)

delicate is better than lavender haze by eons, let’s not lie now.

but it is definitely the bigger song, no doubt about that. but that doesn’t take away from the fact that delicate is a pop radio #1 and was taylor’s last hit until all too well and anti-hero came around :michael:
