I’m actually hoping for a spring or summer release so she can have a dominance uninterrupted by the holiday massacre & coincide with the end of the Eras tour that had just gone through Europe and Asia. Maybe around May, June or July for the album. Smash single (if it’s a good pick like Anti Hero) and album maybe even bigger than Middy guaranteed after the tour only ups her growing status in Europe and Latam :gaycat2:

Midnights wasn’t quite two years from evermore, but close, so summer 2024 seems very possible comparing the time length between Midnights :jonny:

It's up to her, we'll see what she decides to do. It's just that between this and the re-recordings i wouldn't want her to be too overexposed.

It is a lot, but with how she operates these days and the death of monoculture I don’t think it’s truly possible for her to get overexposed. Even if she has a big release once a year or every 6 months, she then goes back to hiding and she doesn’t really do anything to play the celeb game anymore. It always culminates in huge hype for every release even if the gap between the last was short. So I think she’s good to release whenever she wants now.

I hope you're right. I still have war flashbacks from the 1989 era and the way the media treated her :rip:

Did I see some people suggest she’s gonna go away for a few years? I’m sorry but I don’t see it until she’s way older. She said herself in December that she’s happy creating constantly and releasing very often, and has no intentions of taking long breaks. She has made that abundantly clear, so the only thing keeping her away for a few years within the next decade or so would be a severe case of writers’ block and that isn’t too likely. And even in that scenario, she could just release vault material of more recent albums and pass it off as something new and it would still smash.

Re: the TVs - I really think the time for Speak Now TV has passed, if it’s coming this year she should drop it around October/November. The idea of an April announcement and June release for 1989 TV imo would be absolutely perfect. She’s in her pop star era again judging by her aura, recent fashion choices, and just many things. 1989 is so beloved right now and her hype is so big that I think it’s just the right time in her career to drop the TV during the summer where the biggest tour of all time, which happens to be her own, is on-going. Just my two cents.

Also a new album will come soon, probably in 2024. Bookmark me. No one else believed TS10 would come so soon while I was believing it was coming for months. She’s not waiting more than 2 years after Midnights for TS11, it will help split up the TVs era further and capitalize once again on her current dominance.

100% to all of this

I don’t get the weird fetish people have for claiming She is going to go away for a few years / semi-retire. Lately it’s been paired with “well after the Eras tour I bet She plans to get married and have a baby!!!” as if She doesn't have a current single about not needing to get married :deadbanana:

I will be shocked if She slows down anytime soon. She’ll keep going as long as She keeps smashing. It’s clear She cares a lot about building a legendary career + legacy.

Honestly I could see her releasing TS11 late this year :deadbanana: She's insane like that. Monte Lipman isn't gonna stop her if she wants to.

I was thinking the same thing, and I’d welcome it with open arms even if it means still no more rerecordings yet. It would be gigantic and probably better than Midnights since I’m sure she saw any negative feedback and is using it for her next album already (maybe giving us more real instruments for example).

But I didn’t wanna say it cuz most people here will say it’s delusional, but 2023 is starting to look a lot like 2022 where we were sure we’d get 2 rerecordings and as the year progressed we heard nothing - so then some of us caught on and just knew a new album was coming. So I wouldn’t be surprised at all :giraffe:

There is no way I see a brand new album until the tour is over… I can’t see her adding another era to it

A re-recording makes sense as she doesn’t have to change anything about the tour except add a song or two for Speak Now :lakitu:

Releasing TS11 at the end of 2024, basically exactly 2 years after Midnights, would be the best idea imo.

MTE. She's clearly still an A-list pop act, no need to waste her early 30s being a Lorde/Bey/Rih and taking 4+ years for a project. Her momentum is insane, she clearly has another smash era under her belt, and delaying it until 2026 would just be stupid on her end since the iron will have cooled by the end of the decade as she crawls towards 40.

Spoiler

Though im fairly certain with her fanbase loyalty we will be seeing Madonna-level slayage in her 40s as well

We probably never will learn (because why would we?) but I'd kill to know how much her plans for this decade changed from their original pre-pandemic schedule.

I do think she was planning to bang all the re-recordings out in two years, which is why she was willing to release two albums in quick succession in 2020 (because assumed she'd be taking two years away from releasing new material.) But in doing that, she accidentally caused her catalog to massively balloon on streaming. The ensuing hype led to Midnights, and now we're at the point where Lover scraps she releases quietly after leaking are becoming global hits :deadbanana:

There's now competing demand for:

  • More new material, which will mega-smash regardless.
  • Expanding what's already becoming the biggest tour of all time to other parts of the globe.
  • And the rest of the re-recordings that fans feel they feel they should have already. The conundrum there is that just doing a massive content dump could dull the impact of each becoming a "moment" like ATW10 and meaningfully replacing the originals (look at the crosstabs of Fearless vs. Red for how the latter successfully killed its original.) But dragging them out gets in the way of making a movie, and whatever else her next devious schemes may be.

But I do think TN learned from the rapid succession of Evermore-Fearless TV which didn't give either the space to be the center of attention. Given the fast-paced nature of everything now, she could feasibly drop TS11 this fall. It has been six months since Midnights, which is more like a year ago in the current climate.

Very random but thought it'd be worth asking.

Anyone have a Lover Live in Paris Vinyl they're potentially looking to sell? I'm desperate to get my hands on it😭😭😭

This. The more the year goes by, the more convince I become about the possibility of TS11 this year. The only thing that goes against this being plausible is the ongoing tour. I don't see her adding another album to the already massive setlist.

But she has been saying that she writes constantly for months now, and for the Midnights vinyl to be produced, the album had to be completed by like April/May 2022. That means she has constantly been writing material that don't belong on Midnights for nearly a year now, and she said herself that she doesn't like to sit on new material.

The choice of releasing a new album or the TV is probably only motivated by "do I have an album ready to go". She is currently on top, and has hype for days. As much as her fans like a good trip down memory lane with the TVs, it's more important for her career that she keeps on releasing new albums. It adds to her legacy more than a TV would. Releasing all the TV back to back could also have the effect of making her a nostalgia act (kind of), so it's important that they are spread out with brand new albums in between.

I have to say, i'm really curious to see how big she could potentially be in her 40s, Madonna remained a huge pop girl during her 40s and i'd love to see the same happening with Taylor. They're both my all time faves so seeing them having the same trajectory would be amazing.

And I really want her to serve a full Euro Dance album in her 40s a la COADF to fully conquer Europe.

It's definitely a mystery what her next move will be, because everything you've said here is true. I've been thinking the same thing - it's kind of a dilemma for her along the lines of "what do I do next to best maximize my slay?" since a re-recording would smash due to nostalgia factors, but if she has another album ready to go, it could be even bigger. However, if she chooses the latter option, continuing to push the re-recordings back could backfire. She has so much to juggle right now that my head would be spinning if I were her :rip:

A new album is definitely coming sooner rather than later, though. I do think the best schedule going forward would be to utilize 2023 for two re-recordings (I think 1989 TV should drop this summer, in fact an April announcement for a June release sounds perfect). What better way to capitalize on her massive US leg of tour than to re-release her biggest album, which happens to be a pop album, and following her most recent new album which was also pop. Speak Now TV for the fall sounds promising, then. Perhaps she could do that and then go silent besides the Oceania leg of tour in February-ish 2023. Then, TS11 in the summer of 2024 following the end of her stints in Europe and Asia, and I don't even want to imagine the damage it would do. Midnights' crown would be threatened with ease.

But all of this is very hypothetical, and who knows what she has up her sleeve. If TS11 were to drop later this year, it would be just as well. You're right about how the industry moves so quickly these days, one year between albums in this climate is the same as two years between them in the digital era. The movie is something that has to be considered as well, so assuming she has the content ready for whatever re-recordings are next, perhaps going ahead with another new album later this year would actually be for the best. That way she can drop a couple TVs in 2024 while she wraps up tour and then goes ahead with her movie, which would be time-consuming.

So many possible scenarios, but at least we know we'll be eating for years to come :giraffe:

OH YES. Euro Pop/Euro Dance is a style she hasn't really explored yet and i'd love for her to release something like that. COADF is still my favorite Madonna album to this day, i know Taylor can make something similar.
