Talking about RedTV just reminds me of that glitch in ATWTV and the crackling sound on Gary's voice in TLT 'cause they couldn't be bothered to adjust the levels.

I think the only thing She cares about are the vault tracks, 'cause...

Yeah the mixing on Red TV is arguably worse than the original. It was always rough on the OG and actually was fine bc that was the vibe she was going for (some of the tracks being basically demos lmao)

But :rip: no excuse! The worst offender is the glitch in Sad Beautiful Tragic’s instrumentation at 4:06

Why do people engage with artists they don't like . I couldn't imagine camping in a Bieber thread and keeping up with his every move... I just ignore him We must pray for the victims of Taylor Swift

No one's really arguing about Her vocals, it's the mixing that doesn't hit the same. There is no quality control.  :bibliahh:

Exactly. The issues some of the rerecordings have had is not her actual vocal delivery, it’s the mixing of the songs. And in my opinion, especially the vocals. Christopher Rowe does not know how to handle them. Someone here described it before as sounding like the vocals are just layed on top of the tracks and not seamlessly mixed in with the instrumentation… and somehow that makes sense. State of Grace is maybe the worst example - her vocals just sound so OFF it’s jarring…

Also the way he absolutely butchered the instrumentation in the 5-minute ATW. Was just relistening to it and the original’s instrumental back to back in 20 second intervals and just wow. The guitars sound so muffled and low compared to how electrifying the original is.

And full disclaimer that I’m saying all of this as an avid defender of the rerecordings of Fearless (I think every single song on FTV shits on the original, even YBWM, unpopular opinion yes I know). I’m also an Obsessed Nathan Chapman Hater, I think Chris Rowe has done an infinitely better job capturing certain instruments like drums than Nathan. But some issues just cannot be ignored, which mostly consist of the vocal mixing and not catching some mistakes and glitches here and there.

Like I will praise where credits are due like the recent S&S and EO TV, which are both superior to the OGs. Same with Treacherous TV and Red’s title track, both clears the OGs.

Red TV (album) is full of production glitches. Vocal, instrumental, etc., they were probably on the rush to meet the deadline with the vinyl pressing, and they didn't thoroughly had quality control. Because Fearless TV (album) is actually great, so there's no other reason than them rushing it to meet the vinyl pressing.

As for Enchanted TV, I think the version being played on the video is just a rehearsal version. It's not the full version. It's just a guide for the rehearsals to avoid potential leaks. It sounds empty, and the instruments are sparse.

But it's a cell phone recording of a song being blasted in a giant, empty stadium.

I don't even think Midnights will get an AOTY nomination, but Anti-Hero deserves SOTY so hope that's what she pushes.

Midnights is very obviously getting nominated for AOTY with ROTY/SOTY nominations for Anti-Hero. This reminds me of when the album leaked and all Taylor stans insisted it would have mixed or negative reviews :rip:

The reason Enchanted TV was playing is because she lips it nnn

That’s why Pitchfork gave OG a 9 while the TV an 8.5. :giraffe:

This doesn't make any sense either. Why would she be lipping along to an unreleased song with full background vocals recorded, and why would they immediately copyright strike a backing track? Y'all really need to be serious, Speak Now TV is definitely imminent.

Red tv takes the og to a whole nother immersive level BUT the og has more emotion :bird:

Plus the whole ‘174’ thing. It’s coming soon!

Fearless was never listened to besides the singles and some shuffle like rarely

Right? I thought Fearless TV was nearly flawless. Absolutely dog walks the original especially when it comes to mixing. Rick Beato on YouTube did a quick, blind reaction to the OG vs TV of the title track and was immediately like damn the new one is just far superior. Anyone can tell this.

I’m… just not sure what happened with Red TV. I prefer most of the originals.

It’s just nostalgia lol. Objectively, apart from the pop tracks (which aren’t even THAT bad), Red TV is better than it’s OG

Yea I mean nobody give a damn other than a few stans that love to look for everything wrong in it. From what I've seen, people seem to love the new versions and I agree. Even musicians online say the production is clearer

it's the other way around, TV fixed the singular flaw og had and made it perfect

not to jinx her but while there's no way she's winning AOTY, with 10 noms in each category she's locked for noms in the big 3 + all 3 pop ones

exactly!! yes some of us has/had this emotional attachment to the og since we've had it for an entire decade and it's such a special record but as someone that couldn't imagine leaving it behind and never looking back even until the day before TV's release, I was shocked that she elevated it and replaced it for good (which I should've learned by then that I shouldn't be surprised by her anymore but I still do).

I dropped to the floor with the Enchanted snippet. Speak Now TV is coming to stomp :clap3:

I just automatically assume you haven't listened to original red enough if you think the new version is superior except the ones that seriously needed improvements. The flat, off key and nasal vocals on safe and sound, the lucky one, holy ground, etc for example. The pop songs are universally panned because they are objectively bad and most people also have heard the OG versions enough to notice the difference. They wouldn't sound that bad if you never listen to the originals. It's not their fault that they heard the better versiond before.

We got the best of both worlds but objectively I would pick more OG tracks if we have to pick and choose and compare. Let's be honest, OG red still stomps despite being a decade old. :jonny:

Red TV is kind of a mixed bag. The vault tracks are excellent and some of the re-recorded versions clear the originals (Red, Treacherous, The Last Time, CBBH) but then there's the Begin Again TVs that just feel kinda weird

That's the Canada Deluxe Edition.

In place of the Target Deluxe Edition, they have that instead.

Nostalgia usually wins so your perspective is expected. To each their own, but I will never listen to OG again. Shrug emoji.
