This. The more the year goes by, the more convince I become about the possibility of TS11 this year. The only thing that goes against this being plausible is the ongoing tour. I don't see her adding another album to the already massive setlist.

But she has been saying that she writes constantly for months now, and for the Midnights vinyl to be produced, the album had to be completed by like April/May 2022. That means she has constantly been writing material that don't belong on Midnights for nearly a year now, and she said herself that she doesn't like to sit on new material.

The choice of releasing a new album or the TV is probably only motivated by "do I have an album ready to go". She is currently on top, and has hype for days. As much as her fans like a good trip down memory lane with the TVs, it's more important for her career that she keeps on releasing new albums. It adds to her legacy more than a TV would. Releasing all the TV back to back could also have the effect of making her a nostalgia act (kind of), so it's important that they are spread out with brand new albums in between.

The dilemma of how she would add in another new album of material to the tour has definitely crossed my mind as well. However, in my mind, it would make sense to leave it out and save it for the next time she tours. I am sure she will have several albums of new material by the time that happens (I would make a wild guess of around 2027 or so for the next tour). She could focus it around those albums, including TS11, even if it drops during the Eras tour - most likely towards the end, or just after it.

It's funny though how much I keep thinking back to 2022, because this year is absolutely going the same way thus far and I honestly don't know what to think. It's almost as if there's a domino effect going on, everything she releases causes her to re-peak and then capitalize off it further. The rerecordings capitalized off of the success of Folklore/Evermore and then Midnights was the thing to capitalize off of Red TV. Well, Midnights just took her to yet another height and yet she still has room to grow... so is she just going to drop yet another album after a year of silence? I'm very much here for that, and I wouldn't put it past her.

Also, Midnights really helped cement her status as a current act still. Not to downplay her dominance and relevance throughout 2020 and 2021, but a lot of it did rely on her past works, and that's not a bad thing since she also had folkmore, but I'm sure you know what I mean. Midnights really... re-cemented her as not only a gigantic force that is more successful than everyone else due to how much all her music is consumed, but also as being bigger than anyone else even when it comes to new material. It'll be interesting to see if she wants to further that domination with current music or thinks Midnights is enough to break up the re-recordings era, where she can resume it now.

...Not that she's giving us any indication since she's dead silent :bunny:

Why do people engage with artists they don't like . I couldn't imagine camping in a Bieber thread and keeping up with his every move... I just ignore him We must pray for the victims of Taylor Swift

It's up to her to decide what her next move will be but i really think a new album THIS YEAR would be a terrible idea, it's just too soon. I think she should release Speak Now TV in Q4 and then wait for Q4 2024 to release a new album. So there's some space between each project.

We have to remember that the tour is a MASSIVE event right now, more than arguably every previous tour in history so she feel very "exposed" in a way, the way her ENTIRE catalogue is getting boosted is insane. If she releases a whole new album during that period i really think people would get sick of her and it's the last thing i want :rip:

I don’t think she would release a whole new album while on such a massive tour already… I feel like it will be the SN TV announcement or the LATAM tour dates

agreed and we don't need a new album this year either we NEED SNTV

I have to say, i'm really curious to see how big she could potentially be in her 40s, Madonna remained a huge pop girl during her 40s and i'd love to see the same happening with Taylor. They're both my all time faves so seeing them having the same trajectory would be amazing.

Female artists have a hard time being relevant in their 40s but the downgrade affects specially to those who sell sex (to put it plainly) or are carried by radio hits. With how strong Taylor's fanbase is and how her music relies more in lyrics than anything else I think she can do very well. I don't think she will be this commercial juggernaut forever but honestly I don't see a brand new album from her opening with 50K or 100K units as it happens to most of legacy acts. I think she'll go with a lower profile but still massive.

We do need that, but I honestly feel like she will announce 1989.

My theory is 1989 is already an AOTY winner and she probably wants to send Speak Now (TV) to the grammys and she would be competing with Midnights. Besides that, she’s been using “Dreams” and “Wild” a lot in her instagram captions and what was the first song we heard from the 1989 (TV) world? :bird:

Adding to the fact that 1989 is a perfect summer album!

Yeah i agree, Taylor has amassed a uniquely loyal massive fanbase and i have a hard time seeing her completely flop, she's always be successful at some degree. I just wonder if she could potentially have an era as big as Ray of Light/COADF once she's in her 40s. We'll have to wait and see i guess.

neither Speak Now nor Midnights will be winning any main stage grammys so there's nothing to worry about lol

Taylor has never won ROTY or SOTY even though they basically just handing it away last year so I’ll believe it when I see it :ducky:

The lover aesthetic was so ugly btw :kitty: like she’s so pretty but the outfits were just not flattering at all

Releasing two re-recordings this year and TS11 next year would make perfect sense but time’s passing by and still no announcement

every re recording will have its moment and its hype build around.

we're gonna have speak now in oct - nov.

the fact swifties are waiting a surprise drop since 2 weeks after a smash album like midnights with 6 months after the release the first 2 singles in the top 10 :deadbanana2:

it's not coming any new vault song or re recorded song is not Need or hits different (or karma remix) before the end of summer

the only way I can see that happening is if she announces one next week and the other one in October to release in December, otherwise I think it will be just one :gaycat6:

imo she will release a last summer single from midnights around late may.

How can you not release a summer single from such a smash pop album and after radios have loved the first 2 singles?... I mean.

then speak now is coming in november and like for red we're not gonna listen anything from it before the album release. So a good amount of time (5-6 months) without new singles to get a little bit of hype.

She's not gonna kill midnights after 6 months for SN.

An encanthed new version can have a cute moment on streaming services but that's all...country radios will not care as for red and fearless vault songs so the speak now era will be only about its release and then it's over.

so like for fearless- red  1989 could came after six seven months after SN in the spring early summer, in time for the european leg of the eras tour.

The only way I see a new album being released this year is in the scenario where that potential project is somehow connected to Midnights like Evermore was to Folklore. It'd help to boost Midnights before the voting period (or replace it if the music is more acclaimed/successful).

So far we have The Alcott to look forward to, plus I'm pretty sure that we're getting at least a re-issue of Midnights with Hits Different included + some new tracks.

When the re-recording era is over we are gonna be so BORED :rip: waiting on new music alllll the time

100%. After that MV I don't know how are we still discussing which re-recording will be next. Only reason would be that she didn't expect Midnights' success and she wants to let it breathe and skip the release date she had planned for Speak Now TV, but that would made her easter eggs look stupid. Besides, Imogen Heap was apparently re-recording Clean just 6 months ago.

a deluxe version of midnights is possibile but we need it?-

The album is already long ... i don't think new songs would add anything new to it.

to make a little bit of buzz around the album (i hope she will really campaign only for anti hero) a release of the am version in physical during the voting time would be already enough.

Yeah this makes most sense to me. Reputation TV closing out the re-recordings era in the first half of 2025 would make sense.

This is why I genuinely think she's either gonna skip Debut or just drop it randomly with little fanfare. She doesn't really have to "kill" the original album the way she does with the others, and I really don't think she wants to draw attention to teen twang songs like Picture To Burn the same way (as evidenced by the tour setlist.) Bookmark me, if it ever sees the light of day it's not gonna get a big runway and the little bumpkins will say it's robbed or neglected but she won't care nn.
