Anti-Hero is just such a good song. I'm sorry that some swifties don't get it, but it's what got Taylor back to be playing on the radio. That chorus is just plain crack and the production is incredible throughout

Honestly, part of why some of her more recent meta-commentary kind of songs fall a little bit flat is because Anti-Hero did it so well. It hit just the right mark to balance the nuances of her public image and to take the things in stride in a way that sat at the right point between being self-deprecating and being a little sarcastic. The production elements and vocal approach really elevate it beyond, and it just turns into this perfect encapsulation of her pop star status, while being a catchy pop-radio-ready smash. It's like the quintessential example of what her mainstream pop music is, the perfect center.

While I think Ophelia is her most perfectly crafted pop song since Cruel Summer, Anti-Hero is my favorite. It's so damn good.

I had this exact thought yesterday, her tracklist did her no favors. ED should've been the second to last track, showing how after all the glitz (cancelled, wish list), she was finally happy and admitting she's not for that vibe but no, she just had to put that in the middle of the record and track 5 at that just to upset the stans and have people just tuned off. Im actually really happy she added these, they are what the second half of showgirl should've been

OMG! I hateddddd BDILM for the longest, but then it finally clicked about a year after the album release and I love it now too

The funniest thing about this "creatively bankrupt" drag is that her 10th studio album won AOTY and her 11th studio album is top 5 in her discography .

The TTPD hate was VERY clearly detached from the quality of the work and time is already proving to be the ultimate truth teller there. OTHs clinging to the (still positive!) initial response.

Like when you zoom out and look at the last four things she released before Showgirl they look even stupider.

So even if yes Showgirl isnt her best album and who knows how it will hold up on streaming etc as the years pass but Showgirl will ALWAYS have Ophelia attached to it I need to hear it live so bad

They've completely convinced themselves that anything she produces is devoid of meaning and creativity, spun that narrative around a few hundred thousand times in their little snark subs, and deluded themselves into thinking that the average person also agrees with them, actively and enthusiastically, and is therefore also incapable of evaluating her creative capacity (not that they recognize their inability, they just think everyone else hates her and her work the way they do).

i hope my neighbors like "cleveland!" because i seriously can't get enough of it. why is this song so damn catchy?
