I've never seen so many swifties dragging #her as much as today :clack:

She's been using the silence tactic to allow fake narratives to spread so she has something interesting about her. Let's see how long she's willing to keep this going :ryan3:

Why do people engage with artists they don't like . I couldn't imagine camping in a Bieber thread and keeping up with his every move... I just ignore him We must pray for the victims of Taylor Swift

The fact that this has become the new Snapchat-gate where everyone is believing something that was debunked years ago :rip:

Like, Jack said they had no clue about the credit. This is a fact. If he were lying, Olivia and her team would've hit back. Yet they haven't done that for obvious reasons.

At what point does it become flamebait or trolling to keep repeating something factually untrue? :deadbanana4:

Even if we ignore actual statements - the concept of Taylor forcing her to give credits right after sending her a handwritten 10-page letter and piece of her own career memorabilia... is she a comic book villain? :ahh:

I know right? It's so funny how this argument is used as an objective fact when it's not :ahh: I can "understand" OTH using it since they're blinded by hate but coming from someone calling themselves a fan - especially after the 2016 bandwagon hate when Taylor was called a liar for the exact same thing - this not only sad, it's pathetic.

Lemme get this straight

ATRLers keep propagating debunked conspiracy theories en masse about Taylor threatening/suing/[insert negative buzzword here] that girl but then say it's unreasonable to assume Bluebird took these photos down at her request? Genuinely what reason would they have to take any trace of Taylor down if they weren't asked to?

But that's beside the point, the irony… genuinely no words.

Oh that swiftie mod…

It's always the reputation haters and Lover apologists of the fanbase. :shakeno:

I'd be open to the idea if it's, like, an album full of TLGADs or Mad Womans where there's a very slight political undertone. But the concept of her singing about Trump again (OTY is so comically bad fjfklusjsh) or, like, deforestation… I'd rather eat cyanide than be subjected to that. The Metascore would put 143 to shame with all the "billionaire" think-pieces too.

:khalyan2:

Oh a deforestation anthem with lyrics like these:

You can no longer put your big wood into my forest somehow

My sap is all dried up now

Log me like how they log all the trees out out OUT~~~~~

Not the only Swiftie mod we have using the « Taylor forced Olivia to credit her on Déjà Vu » argument against her, this is so sad but not surprising, you can tell being a Swiftie gives you a disadvantage when it comes to ATRL :dies:

Yeah. I can't believe a swiftie is using that argument. It's even worse when it comes to a mod because his replies get that shiny frame. Embarrasing.

Anyways, Sabrina and Gracie, the true Taydaughters.

:sabrina:

If I never have to read another thing about the stupid credits controversy again, it'll be decades too soon. I'm so tired. Taylor Swift is a pop singer, not a shitty watered-down Disney villain. :ducky:

Also… it's just credits. It's not like Taylor laid claim to Olivia's firstborn

Prime example of people clinging to whatever claim to try to justify a fully unnecessary, deep-seated hate for a pop star who they'll never meet

I will always suspect that Olivia's team handed those credits over themselves... firstly you need to remember at the time miss Rodrigo was under fire for "copying" Misery Business (and this was a discussion that wasn't just limited to Stan Twitter kiis, I think MizBiz charted on Spotify for a while nnn), and in a post-Blurred Lines lawsuit world if anyone actually decided to sue Olivia for plagiarism that wouldn't have gone well for someone who was just breaking out. I suspect her team went through the evidence and found that interview with Zane Lowe (I think?) where she says she was inspired by Cruel Summer and decided to play it safe. 33% of royalties feels like a lot, but Taylor has 50% on 1 step forward, 3 steps back and they willingly forked that over :deadbanana4:

I will freely admit that this is also speculation, but like Jack said he had nothing to do with it, if you think he was covering for Taylor then 1. why didn't Olivia's team say anything, not even through a coded exclusive in Page Six and 2. is there anything that would make you not believe that Taylor served Olivia with an IOU atp :deadbanana4: the lack of falsifiability is a hallmark of conspiracy theories I fear...

I can't believe I just saw that horrific thread…how on earth is it still open with four pages? wtf is going on? Those are literally sick and/or terminally ill children.

Do these freaks think she's going to educate these kids about JK Rowling and why they shouldn't have their hospital room decorated in Harry Potter themed stuff? I know it's done on bad faith but I thought we all knew not to make a spectacle or make fan wars when it comes to certain topics….ugh

In other news, YNTCD & The Man possibly got re-mixed, since like yesterday some of the vocals are much louder and the production (especially The Man's awful post chorus melody) are no longer as loud :cm:

The way you can tell how Cruel Summer effortlessly becoming much bigger than the song that sampled it deeply hurt some feelings :deadbanana4:

I actually think Olivia's teams gave Taylor credit voluntarily so they could use her name to campaign for the Grammys

Her hitting two birds at once with Fortnight is kinda gagging me. #Conspiracy /sarcasm

The deja vu credits truly are not that serious but I find that Taylor asking for credit on the song is what makes the most sense. I don’t think that Taylor’s team is sending requests on her behalf randomly asking for credits on songs, especially to a huge artist . There has to be a middle ground between “Taylor Swift is this big bad guy demanding credits” and “Taylor Swift has no idea what’s going on with the rights to her music”.

If I am wrong about it and the truth gets told one day, then I will apologize for spreading misinformation. I’m sure they don’t have bad blood but that’s the crediting situation is probably one of the main reasons they don’t speak about each other in the press, along with Olivia needing to establish her own identity outside of Taylor.

we don't know anything about that. everyone's opinion is just speculation. it could also be that her team chicken out and gave it pre-emptively and then she fired them. this is why i find this discussion pointless, because everyone believes in version based on whatever biases they have.

worst part is it's been almost 5 years and people are still dragging it :gaycat6:

It's just very unlike Taylor to do that.

Taylor has never asked for credits on another song before and generally does everything in her power to avoid legal disputes, which she especially would not start with a young, self-proclaimed swiftie who she just sent a handwritten letter and fan memorabilia to.

It just makes more sense to me that it was either requested by UMPG, who owns Jack's publishing rights, or given voluntarily by Olivia's team (maybe against Olivia's own wishes?) and that Taylor didn't protest.

I remember thinking that if Olivia was upset, it could've escalated even more by Taylor doing everything in her power to go #1 during SOUR's second week, even debuting those godawful "digitally signed" copies:gaycat6:

I'm sorry but this cannot be copyrighted right? @beagle please correct me! I'm in the rabbit hole.

I mean again Hack said the credits just came to him... does Hack not know what's going on with his music as well?

The way Swiftilogist described what might have happened perfectly. He thinks she drew a line in the sand. She was getting too friendly. So she showed some teeth.

What about Sabrina? You ask. Well, she is different to Olivia.

You see, Olivia will be around for a long time. She is a writer. A sharer of her journal. Giving life experience to young girls and gays alike. Sound like someone?

Nothing New Taylor lit the match.
