Why do people engage with artists they don't like . I couldn't imagine camping in a Bieber thread and keeping up with his every move... I just ignore him We must pray for the victims of Taylor Swift

Was too chronically online yesterday for my own good (i.e. geopolitics, war, etc.) and had to turn to my parasocial tendencies to cope.

Taylor doing a folklore-evermore sized timeless political resistance/calling for peace album would be so nice to have in this timeline.

Songs akin to Bob Dylan (Blowin' In The Wind), Feeling Good (Nina Simone), Team, Yellow Flicker Beat, Fallen Fruit (Lorde), Big Yellow Taxi (Joni Mitchell), Imagine (Beatles), X-Static Process (Madonna), Easy Silence (The Chicks), Follow Your Arrow (Kacey Musgraves), Fear The Future (St. Vincent), What About Us (P!nk), Man From The Magazine (HAIM), Freedom (Beyoncé), Woman (Kesha), Safe & Sound (herself) etc.

I'm going to be so sad when she ditches the folklore/evermore/3AM/Anthology sound for "big pop" again :chick3: I really don't want her to go that route

She's 20 years into her career, she doesn't need to be making a charts album atp

If she sadly ditches Jack and Aaron I hope it's for a more rock/indie rock sound

Like imagine going all in with a GAS sound? :jonny:

Half of the reviews would be "it's so opportunistic and fake for her to suddenly act like she cares" and the other half would be "it's so problematic and tone deaf that she never acknowledges that being a billionaire makes her one of them, undercutting the legitimacy of her efforts to be a voice of the people." :deadbanana:

With Taylor you can never say never but one thing I can certainly say I never want to see is a political album. Just imagine… oh the horror.

When TS12 ends up being her N°6 Collaborations Project, who are we blaming?

Her collaborators, obviously.

There is an encrypted message that you need to multiply by an odd number and then find the square root and apply it to the formula E = MC2 and then finally the result will be 12! But you were Thiiiiiiiiiiiis close!! :WAP:

Let's briefly re-discuss the wonderful 2021 Grammy performance of cardigan/august/willow.

The beautiful set design/fantastic transitions/singing of all the bridges/willow chorus vocal delivery.

All three songs are in my Taylor top 10 of all time.

Yet another example of this one-sided beef that Taylor didn't ask to be involved in. But I won't say too much since even many of her own fans can't put two and two together about what happened.

Spoiler

I lied, I do have more to say

It's 2025 and people still think Taylor did something to that girl when Jack confirmed she didn't and she's STILL been supportive (see Grammys 2024) even after the other party refused to dispel insane and libelous rumors about her when asked lol. Yeah, sure, Taylor definitely sent a 10-page letter to someone along with an iconic piece of her memorabilia and then suddenly turned on them. Give me a break :rip:

I like them both but I realize I am also an outlier in traditional Swiftie culture in that I don't give a single **** about what goes (or doesn't) on in her personal life. But that caption of the tweet is in no way what was said in the video.

If "Only The Young" is any indication of what we'd get from a "political" album...

I'd be open to the idea if it's, like, an album full of TLGADs or Mad Womans where there's a very slight political undertone. But the concept of her singing about Trump again (OTY is so comically bad fjfklusjsh) or, like, deforestation… I'd rather eat cyanide than be subjected to that. The Metascore would put 143 to shame with all the "billionaire" think-pieces too.

I understand what you both mean.

No one sees "political" music coming from artists at the top of their careers.

It's a mere reflection of the times e.g. Nina Simone.

In any case, I was just yapping.

Spoiler

and the songs I mentioned are not that political anyway.

Not the only Swiftie mod we have using the « Taylor forced Olivia to credit her on Déjà Vu » argument against her, this is so sad but not surprising, you can tell being a Swiftie gives you a disadvantage when it comes to ATRL :dies:

I think we're good after "Only the Young"... :rip:

I feel kind of threatened by that girl. She could potentially be the single most damaging thorn in Her legacy and might cause Her downfall......

The fact that this has become the new Snapchat-gate where everyone is believing something that was debunked years ago :rip:

Like, Jack said they had no clue about the credit. This is a fact. If he were lying, Olivia and her team would've hit back. Yet they haven't done that for obvious reasons.

At what point does it become flamebait or trolling to keep repeating something factually untrue? :deadbanana4:

Even if we ignore actual statements - the concept of Taylor forcing her to give credits right after sending her a handwritten 10-page letter and piece of her own career memorabilia... is she a comic book villain? :ahh:

Meh, there's nothing to be worried about. Taylor did nothing to the person in question - it's been 4 years and there's zero proof and in fact evidence that aligns with the contrary. People ignoring that and acting in bad faith on the internet don't really matter very much when it comes to her immense legacy.

+ the truth always comes out eventually
