You can also look at any streaming and digital chart and see that Choosin Texas has been #1 on every platform in the US for weeks too Even without radio play factored in it'd still be #1. Having great radio placements doesn't immediately make all of her success fraudulent. I don't disagree that there's clearly some play that's been keeping her at #1 on specific platforms like Pandora but it also doesn't change the fact that the song is a gargantuan hit.

She's gonna have a diamond hit faster than any modern main pop girl possibly and will 1000% be touring arenas in the next 12 months (faster than the other pop girls we're talking about here). She's in this conversation whether you like her or not.

The country industrial complex is gonna throw her in and milk her success until they find somebody else to commodify, as they continually do. She has a decent voice and some decent songs so she'll likely remain a decent sized figure in that space for awhile. She doesn't and will never have the kind of worldwide broad appeal that artists like Sabrina/Olivia have but she will have a much stronger machine behind her as long as she does what they want her to. I wont be shocked if she ends up like Morgan Wallen and mounts a massive tour soon but I also won't be shocked if she's gone in 3 years like that industry continually does to women. It always feels like there's not room for more than 1 big female star in country at a time.

Honestly my favorite part of the song is the moaning sounds that are just crunchy enough to sound like they're from the jerk off instruction videos made in 480p from like 10 years ago. Truly camp.

She laid out all the reasons that touring doesn't work for her pretty clearly and said she's into the idea of a residency bc she can balance her work and health. I fail to see how there's an issue here.

It's a fun track. I think I prefer She's The Best. The video was excellent, so much fun and comedy but also actual sexiness.

The Dirt Femme trashings are kinda sending me when I think it's pretty solid even though it's very top heavy. No One Dies From Love and Borderline are such CINEMATIC songs that really take it there. 2 Die 4 is a solid bop, Grapefruit is very memorable, How Long is immaculate. Y'all can leave her out of the lashings for Estrus.

This sounds like a hit

I've watched the videos of the tour and I really don't want to dunk on Tove because she's genuinely one of my favorite artists but I really really dislike everything I've heard. My fav album of hers is Sunshine Kitty so I'm definitely not offput by the 'softer' sound I'm just very unimpressed with what I've heard so far from an artist that has proven time and time again to be great at what she does. Especially when watching videos of the tour with her singing the immaculate and underrated 'My Gun', seeing her sing these new songs is just so. I will say her vocals have improved on the tracks I've heard so far but she's like 0/3 for me in the singles department so far and all of the snippets from the live album tracks sounded bad to me. I fear this will be her worst album by a long shot. I will still be tuning in regardless on Friday along with Bass Persuades.
