As always. The hype never translates into GP interest. Some people do check like when she drops something or the AOTY boost but they always drop on the first listen (based on debut numbers and how they freefall after). Her music is just bad and dated no matter how her media propaganda deem it as the greatest ever, and it shows on her numbers.

Your logic: McDonalds is the best restaurant on this planet. Its consumed by most people, so it HAS to be.

The hate for Beyonce is real.

Gaga's performance was incredible but it wasn't on the level of Beychella. I don't even think Beyonce could top it again. Gaga's a talent and wipes the floor clean with most artists, but B cannot be topped when it comes to live performances.

As soon as Gaga's set finished, the claws were out from all fanbases. Celebrate Gaga returning to form instead of bringing down Beyonce.

There's some absolutely embarrassing behaviour in this thread, go touch some grass.

Save your breath, babe. This is a fruitless fight. Gaga can spend the entire year embarrassing herself and it's mute, but the stans mobilize like roaches when the lights come on the very second she pulls off something slightly competent. It's the same rinse-and-repeat cycle. Let it fizzle out on its own like it always does. :rip:

The shows cater to audiences of differing interests. Both have strong advantages that put them in contention of all-time best sets. It's just a matter of preference.

Well music in the streaming era is very accessible, you can even listen to music for FREE all you have to do is click/tap play.

Point is both McDonalds and music in this era are very accessible except people actually consume McDonalds while no one fvcks with Bey's music.

You simplify the concept of consumption, quality, respect, and importance too much. And I quite frankly, I dont think ur willing to honestly analyze the artist Beyonce and her achievements since u prefer to just be shady and downplay her.

Lets start there:

- No one is releasing their projects without MVs, without promo the way she does. She basically builds up momentum for the release of a debut song or sometimes not even that and hasn't bothered to release any type of MVs since Lemonade (BIK was for her soundtrack). Shes made it her mission to make it about the music alone, while at the same time not doing any forms of Interviews, any forms of performances. After Beychella, she basically stopped all of that. Just single drop, album drop, thats it. No forced autoplay, no engagement, no drive to push anything.

I can guarantee you, there's only two women who would do as well as she is so far in her career (almost 30+ years) with the approach shes taking: Taylor and Rihanna.

If any of the other women did what Bey has been doing so far into their career, theyd fair far far worse.

- Then there's the element of branding: Beys branding is LUXURY. She wants her products to be seen as high-end, not mainstream. Sure, she wants her accolades and like a hit per era, but all the choices she makes are very comparable to high brands. Now educate me who rules streaming and TikTok? Ah right, teenagers and young adults. How many of them would feel heard, seen, and understood by Beyonces branding? Exactly. Shes not their go-to artist. So part of the reason why her streaming.stats might.seem weaker (tho again, who almost 30 years into their career can really compare?) is simply vecause she doesnt really resonate with the young folk like that. They know her, they know shes a legend, but she's not relatable to them and Beyonces doesnt try to be. You don't see her doing TikToks in an attempt to appeal like Gaga.

- then there's the whole aspect of her being a black woman, which historically speaking means less accessability than their white counterparts. I wish it wasnt like that, but statistics speak a clear language, and there's a reason why we only have SZA and Doja as the definite black breakout stars after Bey and Rih while we have a lot more white artists who made an impact.

I could go on, but again, I feel like you don't really care because you prefer to kii and be shady. But to diminish her success like that when she is THE ONLY one of her generation doing it like she is, when shes impacting culture, conversation and thus all musicians with the way she operates and performs, is quite narrow-minded imho.

This goes both ways, babe. It's not like you guys are all Kumbaya when Gaga is underperforming. Don't dish it if you can't take it.

Both amazing performances by queens

The real question is why do the male headliners never bring us half of this sort of spectacle? Beychella/Gagachella are both amazing and any headliner that's just on a mic with barely anything else going on, especially if vocals aren't very good, it's just sad in comparison

More like from red to green. An homage to her streaming boosts. :ryan3:

Because they can get away with being mediocre, unhygienic, and boring for some reason. Can you imagine the backlash if Gaga, Beyoncé, Taylor, Adele, etc. were to go on stage looking (and smelling) like Post Malone or Luke Combs? :deadbanana2:

ot: great performances

Post Malone - jeans, tshirt, beer, cigarette, terrible vocals, countrifies all songs including hip hop ones

Gaga/Beyonce - many outfit changes, amazing vocals, high intensity choreo, visual spectacle

I'm tired of queens who bless us with amazing performances being pitted against each other when truly it is the mediocre men failing us all with their boringness, just collecting checks and bouncing. Post was the coachella third day headliner and people left his set in droves to catch other acts to close out their festival experience, even Zedd who has had the same playlist for over a decade was more lit than Post the actual headliner :dies:

Anyone who is a headliner should bring headliner level that's all. Beyonce and Gaga both elevated what it means to headline, both amazing

Are we supposed to be impressed by these numbers? :ryan3:

This is such a stupid and useless comparison. What they tapped into was completely different from each other, and the reference/inspiration pool they were pulling from is completely different. Some people are going to be more moved by one or the other, but that has nothing to do with the performance. Different things resonate with different people, and they both brought the absolute pinnacle of music, art, and performance to the same stage.

How many songs is your fave currently charting on Spotify Global? Let's hear it! :ryan3:

ot: Gaga and Beyoncé both had great live performances, which is difficult to get ect.

This thread is still going on. Damn I thought we'll move on by now like y'all ain't tired yet?

Also the downplaying of success from both women is weird. I'm seeing people constantly trying to downplay Beyonce's achievements to uplift Gaga's and vice versa. What's funny is that the artists themselves like each other but here come their stans acting a fool. Y'all do know it's not that hard to support an artist without downplaying the other right?
