The first two singles off this album were fine? But they lacked a certain je ne sais quoi. "Sports car" is the FULL platter. Her millennial *** hairstylist showed her the "Buttons" video chairography and she said "lemme try."

 

The steely look in her eyes. The seductive movements. Her POWERFUL stance. The self-assertion. The way she said you will NO longer think I'm a backup dancer trying to claw my way to the front of the stage. Tatiana McRaennaissance Woman has arrived, she's fully formed.

People always lied and said Britney Spears can't sing. If Britney Spears couldn't sing, she would have been Tate McRae. 
 

I want to like her and I enjoy all the Britney'd ass songs and videos, but she needs coaching in that damn recording studio.

She was pretty faceless when she dropped you broke me first and those troye sivan / khalid songs but now i do think she has more personality and appeal. And i really like her. Hope she makes "Miss Possesive" a single next

I mean, she's getting there but she's way different from Britney

9 singles and almost 3 albums in, it would be about time but sadly NO, she doesn't.

 

 

It just prove the theory she would be great back-up dancer not the  main pop-singer star

Tatiana is here to stay

Sports Car is the worst single of the era so far. So no. 

 

Tate has spent her entire career trying to emulate other artists while also being a dollar store version of everyone she is trying to emulate. Why would we listen to Tate when we can go back to Britney, Nelly, Rihanna and PCD? The music video is just a bunch of random shots too so it's nothing but WTF as well. 

 

If Tate had an X Factor by now, her singles would be doing a lot better than they are. If she's lucky with Sports Car, it's only because of lack better artists releasing - much like when Greedy happened. Exes through 2 Hands struggled because Sabrina, Chappell, Billie, Ariana, Taylor and Charli were all available to stream instead and most of their eras are wrapped up now. Bottom line, the GP knows they have better options than Tate so if she has an X Factor, which she doesn't, she wouldn't be consistently struggling.

i dont see it, i love her music sm and i like her as an artist/person, she has all that on the paper, but id critique marketing team. maybe more subtle route would be more believable.

from songwriter and emo kid to full on "*****" is a bit of a "switch". x factors are manufactured anyway, or at least they can be (or im wrong? im still not sure).

to me for instance, olivia also serves "sexy" and is still songwriter and seems believable. idk why tate or her team wanted this full on naked in the video and "porn" faces to someone famous for "you broke me first". maybe i have to mention it, im def not for "policing women" and she should do whatever she wants, but just speaking from business side 

it wasnt the smartest move. number one thing people need to believe you. thats why chloe is also flopping as hard as tate despite the amount of talent and work ethic. too ***** doesn't suit everyone. now when im speaking on it, maybe ***** is nice when its seemingly efffortless. tate looks like every scene is life or death situation. there is no breathing room in her videos. and seduction is in silence.

edit: her pr relationship with kid laroi doesnt do anything for her. whoever thought of it lives in the 80s or something. nobody is bothered honey.

I liker her but her style isn't well-defined yet, which is normal, it takes time to figure out who you want to be artistically and what works for you. She has some good songs, is a very good dancer so we'll have to wait and see in a near future but yeah this song is very good.

For the most part, it seemed the biggest issue for a lot of people was her song choices, and her voice on them. She's always been a great dancer, the stage presence is undeniably there, the music videos for 2 Hands and It's Ok, I'm Ok were great too. At least in my opinion. 

 

Sports Car and 2 Hands are probably the two songs that stand out to me. Sometimes her tone is still a little much for me, but that's not her fault, everyone has their own preference with that. 

 

Still, I think she will have a good year this year.

Great video but it seems like she was listening to a completely different song when she came up with the concept. Does the titular sports car even make an appearance? I didn't spot one

to keep going for a while, so is Tate.

X-Factor? Babes she's essentially an industry plant. At least Britney gave us range when she was commercially active so I really don't get why this girl gets compared to Britney so often, she's more on the Paula Abdul lane if anything.

I just don't think her brand of pop is popular right now and idk if it'll ever become popular again. But this song and video are definitely the right direction.

She's kinda building a fanbase with her tour sold out and all her singles had very good debuts this year

 

It's a sign of a future MPG, not just a random girlie who scored a hit

Do you even know what an industry plant is? Lol

The song is better than what she'd released so far. The video is great too. But idk i feel like she still needs a revamp. She needs a major song again, i feel like she's still lacking in that area. 

 

Although i feel like becoming a popstar is different than 20 years ago. You dont just release a song and suddenly you're the IT girl. It's like bootcamp where you have to work and release until you get your break.

One of the situations with tate is.......I dont know who she is....
Her hobbies, likes, drama. 
I feel like havin an engagin persona is something u need to be a main pop girl too.

The Kuntification of Tate is the best career move she could make since she was never going to be a ballad alt girl like how she desperately wanted BUT also she has a major issue which is hindering her ability to have hits....her voice is just NOT TEA at the moment and its not even due to her natural tone but more so due to her forced singing style. She needs to relax that larynx and sing from her diaphragm a little to have a fuller tone come out of her tbh. If she just changed her singing style a tiny bit i think she could REALLY become big. She has the visual and the dancing skill....she needs to work on that voice a little. Open it up!
