TTPD was beyond saving, the music was simply awful. However, what she should have done is:   Keep "Guilty As Sin" as it's the sole standout track worth keeping. Scrap the remaining 30 tracks

Scrap the entire thing and continue re-releasing TV versions before coming back

1. Fortnight

2. Down Bad (like a month after Fortnight with an old school alien abduction like music video)

3. Guily As Sin?

Edited by Nico Robin

The only thing that I would really change is adding Guilty As Sin? as a third single. It has the same potential to smash that Delicate did back in the day and would be a great send-off that would probably end up being the biggest radio hit of the era.

Honestly I'd start from the top. I feel like she soured everything after the Grammys. I'd fire whoever told her to announce during her speech and just announce it the day or a week after. Also the Celine thing :/

TTPD was beyond saving, the music was simply awful. However, what she should have done is:

Keep "Guilty As Sin" as it's the sole standout track worth keeping. Scrap the remaining 30 tracks; they're uninspired and don't meet the standard.

Write 12 genuinely strong and memorable songs instead, focusing on quality over quantity. Collaborate with new producers, absolutely anyone but AntonOFF. She needs a fresh perspective to elevate the sound and bring originality to the project.

Same, or The Alchemy

Also make her give us some music videos, this isn't a Beyonce album :mazen:

Exactly what I came here to say

Replanning would have to start at the conception phase by leaving most of these songs in the draft. In its current form Fortnight would still be the lead single. Guilty as Sin could have been a great lead if it had decent production. Current production is giving mute and everyone involved needs to get fired for ruining an otherwise perfect song.

Guilty As Sin? lead single, with a MV dropping alongside the standard version. Two hours later, alongside The Anthology, release a MV for The Prophecy. That's the two lead singles.

Then, when The Eras Tour is coming back with the TTPD set, release the tour video of ICDIWABH. At the end of the European leg, a MV for MBOBHFT and BDILH.

The end. A long era post album release is useless in the streaming era, but that way we still get a few MVs while also capitalizing on ICDIWABH sooner.

No singles, but a 15-track album including the best songs from standard and deluxe versions

Release date: Shelved

Release So Long London as a droplet with different lyrics.

1. Fortnight

2. Down Bad (promo with music video like bejeweled)

3. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart (with... a proper video)

4. Guilty As Sin?

Basically any plan that isn't doing nothing for the singles after album release week.

Came here to say exactly this, it's spot on. The album is flat out dreadful from start to finish, the best re-plan for the era is to scrap the entire project and start over.

Fortnight does serve as a thesis statement for the rest of the album, but it's a horrible single choice for the radio and the GP, who does not give a rats ass about the concept or the chronology. The lead should've been My Boy with the obvious doll themed video because it has the strongest and most immediate melodic hook and the killer outro, then the second could've been either Down Bad or GAS (I think she'd probably go with Down Bad since it got more hype earlier and is also not about masturbating to the thought of Matty) with an alien abduction (or Style-style glamour video), and then So High School third to go with the Anthology physicals.

despite its underperformance I still think Fortnight was the best lead single choice. the only strong single contender on the album is Down Bad and they fumbled by not pushing it as the 2nd single with a video

TTPD is simply not a GP/singles album, it's something people who follow Taylor and her life appreciate bc it's so personal - there's a reason why you only see swifties praising it

Kinda agree that releasing 30+ songs from the start was a terrible decision

Step one should be trimming the fat on the album

Scrap the title track, ditch the album title and concept/branding with it. Call the album The Prophecy with a witch-and-goddess theming. Can still do the double album concept, but what makes which half changes to reflect the different title and concept.

So much of the negativity towards the album vanishes with the title track. The lashings for that song were mega-viral and negatively impacted nearly every critic review. Lots of people willfully misunderstood the album title, too, taking it at face value rather than seeing it for the sarcasm it was. Just avoid the whole mess.

I know I'm gonna be alone on this, but I think Florida!!! should have been the lead single. Buzzworthy feature, catchy and memorable, straightforward lyrical narrative, unique but not alienating, potential for a big spectacle of a video, could get memed considering Florida is a universal joke…

Then Down Bad.

Then So High School released in the fall for back to school season, timed so that it peaks with the release of the anthology physicals. I cannot believe she did not do this. :rip:

Easy.

1. Fortnight

2. My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys

3. Guilty As Sin?
