Erotica. I lived through it and the entire world was doing their best to cancel her. She was CONSTANTLY on the news and it only kept her relevant in the end. The truth is, the singles performed decently and her music videos were on heavy rotation on MTV and she had a successful world tour. 

 

American Life - again, same thing happened and this time it kinda worked as the singles flipped and radio banned her despite her having a sold out tour. 

Blackout, Britney was dragged to hell and back and she was practically announced dead in the media once, was pretty vile. The Gimme More video has her trashed out by everyone 

 

LAP/Immaculate Collection/Erotica, despite major success she was pretty much attacked and despised, name called by the media and many of her peers had the audacity to shade her (the shade got shipped back when they showed their **** on national tv tho love them both to death tho) 

 

American Life, straight to the point. Low commercial performance, the start of the “english” era which ironically probably made the whole thing worse 

 

Damita Jo, suffered intensively. Attacks left and right from the media, a lot of fans jumping ship because she worked with known homophobic and sexist artists that kept feuding with her online (Khia), her peers weren’t there for her either  

 

Glitter, she was spiraling and everyone was having a kii out of it 

 

Witness, pretty similar to Glitter in many ways imo 

 

Artpop slightly, it wasn’t that controversial. BTW was far more controversial, it just that artpop was her first flop and she’s never fully recovered. Her image here shipped completely. the death of “pop music will never be low brow” gaga
