Let me link the time when Britney's label claimed that she actually did sell 100m albums but also - yea she debuted at the height of the sales, but everything quickly started falling in terms of sales - and then she experienced several market climate changes Also, there are at least 2 artists since 1985, who have sold 100m albums

MATM did well outside of the US even tho it was limited on radio (both Britney and Madonna were, along with other pop acts for that time) Scream does okay imo for a song from decades ago ..I don't expect much streams tbh

The CONTROVERSIES with this dropping UGH truly not a Britney era without stuff happening the scrapped M/V, the VMA performance having weird moments, weird lead-choice, the shitty album cover, the worst time to drop the album, the album leaking I remember Perez Hilton showing the original M/V the CON team was HORRID The song is meh but okay...but the scrapped M/V really made everyone sabotaging it and downvoting it on Youtube Britney fans were LIVID (but the album was cute at least)

No Award shows don't dictate who is influential or respected.. especially not when they've been known to have backwards thinking and have been exposed for controversies like not listening to albums, biased voting and racist/sexist exclusions.

The way it would've been higher if her team knew how to market her right and put her on playlists But as slw said, the catalogue sale will probably boost her numbers now.. I am interested how much she would gain if her sales are updated (they havent been updated since 2019, and she has had a big certification update+is more of a sales act) let alone if he counted All of her receipted sales (but he counts those only for some favorite stars of his)

Obviously Nostalgia will always be IN, especially now is a strong decade for acts like them Xtina probably needs to be combined with someone tho Britney is retired and they probably don't know fully what to do with P!nk?
