Trauma is hard to go trough.. Especially for some people. Well Witness was disastrous for someone on the scale of Katy (at least post-lead) they probably also invested a lot there, Max Martin, Nicki Minaj (that single also had a lot of popular cameos), Migos (who were blowing up), the disco-balls around the world, the live shows....and didn't get as much returns? so maybe they decided to be more careful with her next era (especially when her droplets after Witness werent doing great ..for someone who used to have several Top 1s on an album, turn into someone who only got a top 10 - a singles artists lets not forget) Smile was invested decently imo, the animated M/Vs was a surprise to me but none of the singles did anything ...u could tell they were careful since they had several songs out (4) and Then decided to call Daisies the lead...... and when the album flopped even more I mean it's not like they don't invest in her anymore... MaxM, Cirkut, Dr Luke, Stargate were all used for 143
