I think she has reached a point of "instant" success, as in whatever she releases people will check it.

Clearly how big of a factor that is will "fade" a little eventually but I can't see her becoming a flop, she'll keep having decently big sales & streams first week for a while maybe she'll eventually start to have less longevity and maybe less radio but that's it. 

Cause also she has creating music so "easy" and so automatic that she won't see it as something "exhausting" or "tiring" that makes her stop releasing

If she releases the sequel of Me! as lead in one of her future albums

Imagine blaming a victim of abuse for going back to her abuser. Maybe read up on some psychology . Keep deflecting though. It won’t change the fact that your fave is immune to controversy and critisicm and will continue to get away with it. yeah like everyone else, young generations already are taking over, new young MPGs, ageism is not good for pop stars Taylor will switch to country again when she is older, and get adults fans and non adults to listen to her, aka  ASIB 

I don't think she will ever flop, but as soon as she has even the slightest decline it will be painted as her flop era even though she'll still be selling more than most other artists

in 2026, she’ll hit the 20 year mark of releasing music. for pop stars, i feel like once you reach that point, you’ve officially passed the test of longevity in terms of commercial success. like no one really faults Madonna or views her projects as “flops” for pulling lower numbers at this point because she already had consistent commercial success for two decades straight and is already in an elite category of pop stars. at the rate Taylor is going, she could literally still be pulling 1 million+ debut weeks by her 20th year  by that point i think she’ll be past the point of EVER truly “flopping”.

She underperformed several times, though.

 

2011: None of the Speak Now singles are reaching the same success as Love Story and You Belong With Me (the tour was a success, though)

 

2018: Her most successful single this year is Delicate, which peaked at #12. This year marks her first year since 2007 that not a single song reached the top 10 on the Hot 100. The tour was a success, though (again)

 

Taylor will never flop.

Speak Now literally debuted with 1mil sales tho. For 2018, I don’t think it counts as a flop for a fourth single from an album the year before that debuted at 1.2mil.

 

The closest to a flop is evermore and Fearless TV imo, which both sold less than 400k first week.

Well, Beyoncé felt untouchable in 2013. She reached a new peak and became a Goddess to the media and was hyped with every release. Although Taylor's commercial success is bigger than 2013 Beyoncé, Beyoncé's status seems bigger than Taylor's is now. So in Beyoncé-fashion - and NO ONE saw that coming - Taylor will release her Lion King OST potentially at some point during the next decade and then before you know it her decline arrives. 

 

You have to remember that every single artist that had a major peak in the past had a sudden decline. Lady Gaga in 2013, Adele in 2021, Madonna in 2004, even Michael Jackson was suddenly declining in 1997. It happens to everyone. Also, when the press is done with you they make sure. 

 

She'll still be a major touring force though. Everywhere probably. However, her sales will remain decent in the US and she'll probably have no problem going #1 but outside of the US I think she could have a bigger problem once she declines, especially the markets where she's not as huge.

Speak Now's 1 million debut happened in 2010. After the holidays that year, the Speak Now era started to slow down, and by March, the album was already out of the top 10 in the Billboard 200. She was starting to have radio burnout, plus other artists, like Adele and Katy Perry, overshadowed her. It was still a successful year for Taylor but was noticeably weaker compared to 2008, 2009, and 2010.

 

Evermore was treated as Folklore's B side, and Taylor barely promoted that album and thus debuted lower than her previous albums. Fearless TV was her first rerecorded album and was testing the waters.

No, she will never flop. 

I thought it she was gonna have a slow decline during 2019. Then folklore and re-recordings showed she won't ever. At this point if she ever decides to retire is when she'll fade away but not unti then. 

I honestly don't think so. She'd have to release something really terrible for that to happen. Besides the worrying singles run, Lover ended up being excellent, so i trust her quality control for album releases.

She's gonna keep going at this pace until she becomes the artist with the most #1s on the Hot 100. In 5 years max she'll have that secured. I don't see her flopping during that time but she'll be pushing 40 by then so who knows what's gonna happen after that. Being the marketing genius she is, she's not gonna risk a decline so she'll start taking huge breaks inbetween albums, like 5-10 year long gaps, to have each new release feel like a huge event and have more chances of being another massive era. During the "breaks", she'll be touring regularly with or without new material and will also venture to directing, acting, etc

Well its impossible to maintain this level of success forever. Eventually she will fade its inevitable and not a bad thing. Just natural for someone to fade

I can see her smashing in her 40s-50s like Madonna lol. 

I think with the pass of time she will slow down and release albums at a slower pace. Every 4-5 years.
This thing of releasing albums every 2 years looks very exhausting lol. 
I can see her releasing her next album and then takin a big break for kids and herself.
Then coming strong with T12 and T13 will be a very special album. Another Re-peak

The only concern is how her fanbase is gettin too large and it could lead to people gettin annoyed-tired with her cause they overhype her too much
Happened to the Monsters and Michael Jackson fans.
Happened to so many singers. The bigger the artist the bigger the target and the downfall

given that taylor is primarily a songwriter, she's unlikely to ever make something as bad as Madame X. so i dont think she'll flop

Probably, but not anytime soon. Every artist has its expiration date and sales will eventually decline. I doubt she'll ever become irrelevant again though, she has cemented herself as an icon and her hardcore fanbase will stick around until she decides to stop releasing music.
