Re-plan Renaissance era

Featured Replies

as much as I love the album, I think the rollout was sort of messy

This era could actually become her IASF 2.0 with a bit adjustment

If you were Beyonce, how would you plan the era?

Late May/early June - 1st single Alien Superstar (single to Pop/Rhythmic radio) (I feel like Break My Soul had potential to be bigger if she released earlier and caught the Pride Month buzz) + Music Video

1st week July : Break My Soul (promotional single)

3rd week July : Plastic Off The Sofa (single to Urban/Urban AC)

Early August : Renaissance album release

- 2nd WW single : Break My Soul + Break My Soul MV + Break My Soul (The Queens Remix)

December : 3rd single Cuff It (catching that wedding viral video hype) + Renaissance Remix Album

America Has The Problem (ft. Kendrick Lamar) (single to Rhythmic/Urban)

February : Tour's announcement

May : 4th single : Virgo's Groove (ft. Dua Lipa, Chloe x Halle, Megan Thee Stallion) [KAYTRANADA Remix]

the same but visuals would be released a month after the I'm that girl trailer

It just needed to be a traditional album campaign—interviews, live performances, singles, visuals, etc. That's partly why I find pop culture boring nowadays, no one really does traditional releases anymore with a campaign behind it; and if they do it's without any type of actual fanfare. I wish she and everyone else would go back to basics a bit, as it relates to promotion.

… for real? Easy. Treat it like an actual era instead of dropping the album and then doing absolutely nothing to promote it and not dropping any visuals.

Only thing I change is capitalizing on the singles.

- BMS and dropping the album was fine.

- Make Cuff It a single when it started going viral on Tik Tok; capitalize on it with Wetter Remix to boost to Top 5.

- Make AHAP a single in January 2023; after Grammy snub release the Kendrick Remix.
- Make Heated a single right before the tour.

This.

Though as a fan I would enjoy them, I would not add performances and interviews and videos, etc. Looking back at the era so far, that would just seem a bit tacky, and yes I know they're all standard things but there's something really special about how RENAISSANCE has done all it has without any of that. It's made people's relationship to the music into something more innate, organic, and personal. It's created a cult album out of one of the most mainstream artists on the planet's most commercial album in years.

I think asking for more than just tighter schedules for singles would be to change the very goal of Beyoncé's rollout, which is to make it all about music first and foremost.

Release each single a month earlier than she did. She missed the peak of popularity/virality with Cuff it and AHAP. Add those remixes too and I think she could’ve had some great peaks.

Lead Single: Alien Superstar

Second Single: Cuff It

Third Single: America Has a Problem

Fourth Single: Heated

Fifth Single: Break My Soul

+ Release Visuals for Each

I'd start the era by surprise dropping 'Break My Soul'

Have a 15-second teaser for 'Cuff It' but an acapella of the pre-chorus with the backing vocals, on Tik Tok

Release 'Cuff It' as a single with an MV on the release day of the album

Third single: Send 'Alien Superstar' to the radio as soon as it got popular on Tik Tok and have the MV come out 2-3 weeks later

Perform a medley of Cuff It-POTS-Virgo's Groove on the VMA 2022

Bag ze acclaim and announce the tour on her social media handles that night :gaycatney4:

I would make Cozy the fourth single of the era a month later with a video around late September

After that, I don't know, but perhaps some campaigning for the Grammys would be nice. I would've loved to do more for Virgo's Groove because it is such an immaculate masterpiece but unfortunately, I don't think it's too radio friendly :emofish:

Move

Ffdg Is this a double entendre ?

I would have released AS the day the album debuted as a 2nd single.

3rd single : CI

4th single : Heated

Promotional single being sent to urban/RnB radios : Plastic Off The Sofa at some point during the era. Maybe a week before the album or after.

Perform Virgo's Groove everywhere I could, non stop.

That's it.

II. Album release & 2nd single: "ALIEN SUPERSTAR"

Released with the album, with a music video & centerpiece of a 'RENAISSANCE' medley performance @ the VMAs.

III. "2.5th" single: "PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA"

Sent to urban/R&B (since I don't think they'd spin AS), no visuals, radio-only single.

Premiere the movie on Netflix and release the "CUFF IT" music video separately on YouTube, also serves as Grammy promo. Perform "CUFF IT" at the Grammys.

VI. 4th single: "AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM"

Release its music video on YouTube, remix with Kendrick Lamar.

End era (or continue with act 2 if that's part of the overall 'RENAISSANCE' experience).

  1. BMS release on a Friday to give it a high debut. MV during album week.
  2. Utilizing TikTok in a personable way and not just an IG copy-and-paste
  3. Cuff It as a 2nd single the moment it was going viral in Sept. Immediate radio impact
  4. Alien-Cuff It-BMS medley at VMAs
  5. Visual film by October
  6. Grammys perf
  7. Heated as 3rd single with Drake remix + MV right before tour + immediate US/UK radio impact

Much as I adore AS and AHAP, I never thought they would completely work as singles. They would tank on radio and AHAP never fully took off in viral streams. It's just not that type of song.

Stop this visual-album nonsense and record 3 good videos for 3 good singles. That's it. No one is gonna care about your visual album if you don't release it.

1. Release the ******* visuals

2. Proceed as you wish

it was so simple.. :jonnycat:

Why is it impossible for fans to just appreciate getting a good album and a fantastic tour? I get wanting extra stuff, but at this point these popstars are too big to be promoting as if they are new and trying to establish themselves. Be happy with the album!
