Those songs made it to the Billboard YEC Top 100.

What were you both trying?

And I didn't add some songs in previous years.

Surprisingly, Camila lasted longer than everyone expected. She always have that star factor.

Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts” was released in 2017, flopped completely, and eventually went #1 over two years later in 2019 due to the song being featured in a popular Netflix movie. This took her from being almost completely unknown, on the verge of being dropped, to a mainstream superstar within a matter of weeks. Her 2016 single “Good as Hell” subsequently went #3 over three years later in 2019. The Kate Bush effect before the Kate Bush effect.

Avril Lavigne’s last Top 10 hit in the US was “Girlfriend” in 2007.

Maroon 5’s debut album was released in 2002, but didn’t climb up the BB200 until 2004 with the success of “This Love”

Lady Gaga’s last solo #1 hit was Born This Way in 2011.

Post Malone is the 10th most successful Hot 100 artist of the 2010’s decade despite his first #1 taking place in 2017. His 2nd and 3rd albums are both in the Top 10 of the most successful albums by unit equivalents EVER according to Billboard. I had no idea he was this popular. :skull:

Camila Cabello has more #1’s on the Hot 100 than Nicki Minaj and Shawn Mendes.

Whitney Houston’s first seven singles went #1. She still holds this record.

Lorde’s only Top 10 hits are from when she was underage.

Katy Perry’s last Top 10 hit was “Dark Horse” in 2014.

Christina Aguilera’s last solo Top 10 hit was “Keeps Getting Better” in 2008

Lana Del Rey’s only Top 10 hit is an EDM remix despite having several multiplatinum songs.

Charlie Puth has only one solo song to ever chart in the Top 10, “Attention” in 2017.

Enya is one of the highest album sellers EVER spanning across three decades, yet only had one Top 10 hit, “Only Time” in 2000.

Taylor Swift’s “All too Well” is the only song over 10 minutes to go #1.

Avril Lavigne last top ten was 2007?!!!?

All Xtina singles from 2000 to 2006 scored top 10 on the UK, the streak was broken by Hurt peaking at #11

Come on Over Baby#8

Nobody Wants To Be Lonely #4

Lady Marmalade #1

Despite no #1 album in the UK, Britney is in the top 10 of best selling female artists there this millennium (2000-2021). She landed above artists with #1 albums such as Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera (the latter not making it to the top 10).

...Baby One More Time (song) debuted at #1 in the UK with a record-breaking 460k sales first week. It's now the 5th best selling female song of all time in the UK.

In Australia, all singles off In the Zone, hit the top position:

  • #1 Me Against the Music
  • #1 Toxic
  • #1 Everytime

In the UK, the singles had an almost identical performance:

  • #2 Me Against the Music
  • #1 Toxic
  • #1 Everytime

There's other major pop girls who have never topped big markets with their albums, like Beyoncé (France) and Taylor Swift (Germany). New Zealand is not a big market, but Britney has 5 #1 hits there:

  • ...Baby One More Time
  • Sometimes
  • Oops!... I Did It Again
  • Hold It Against Me
  • Scream and Shout

She's tied with Beyoncé, Taylor Swift and Christina Aguilera. In fact, all MPGs seem to have at least 5 #1 hits there, except Lady Gaga and Adele (both with 3).

@zoldyck you’ve been cleared :ryan2:

LMFAO blocked Gaga from scoring easy #1’s during her first peak thanks to Party Rock Anthem’s never ending residency at #1, and I hope they go to hell for it.

Isn't Bad Romance her only #2 peaking single, and was blocked by Kesha's Tik Tok?

I think you mean the Black Eyed Peas who spent 26 weeks at #1 in 2009 ?

I thought it was LMFAO all this time :biblio:

Idk why I remember seeing them at #1 and Gaga at like #2 at some point and thinking the world is cursed

Janet's That's The Way Love Goes was blocked a #1 debut in the UK by a George Michael & Queen mini Five Live EP due to some arbitrary rules regarding total time length and number of tracks on a CD to be considered either as a single or album/EP. Every other country outside the UK had put that Live EP on the albums chart instead of the singles chart but the OOC put it on the singles chart instead of the albums chart, thus denying Janet a #1 UK single.

Well, to be exact, Britney’s BB YEC Hot 100 chart fact is about her not having a Top 20 BB YEC Hot 100 since 1999.

BOMT is her one and only Top 20 YEC Hot 100. :deadbanana2:Pretty much every other major pop girl has at least two except her.

I Turn to You was also released in the year 2000 and didn't go top 10. Would have deserved it, tho. So did Hurt.

You know she takes long breaks, so she’s always released less singles. And 2 of those 3 singles released were Top 10 hits  :gaycatina1:

Kelly holds the biggest jump to no 1 with 97-1

To expand on this, a lot of people think Taylor came the closest to dethroning Kelly with ME!'s +98 climb from 100-2 (which technically does hold the record for biggest single-week jump on the Hot 100), however one even more impressive chart increase often gets overlooked due to a technicality: Katy Perry's “Part of Me”.

Known for its #1 debut atop the US Billboard Hot 100, little acknowledge that prior to this it actually also debuted at #1 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart the week prior, effectively climbing +100 positions from #101 to #1. Due to the technicality of the Bubbling Under chart being separate from the main Hot 100, this achievement is not recognised, however it is both a bigger jump to #1 than Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" and a bigger single-week jump than Taylor Swift's "ME!".

"Part of Me" is haunted by technicalities. Due to it not appearing on the original edition of Teenage Dream (despite being recorded during its sessions) it is not formally credited as being the 6th #1 single from the album overall, and didn't break her tied record with Michael Jackson, despite Billboard themselves indicating a single from a reissue with only three new tracks such as Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded would be suitable to break the aforementioned record in an article following the historic rise of "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" to #1, preceding the selection of "The One That Got Away" as the album's sixth single.

Billboard presumably did not actually anticipate Perry doing just that, and although it was never marketed as such, they instead considered it a companion project akin to The Fame Monster or Cannibal, due to the additional inclusion of an acoustic version, two remixes, and a megamix, increasing the total number of "new tracks" from 3 to 7.

- "All Hands on Deck" was a #1 smash on the B. U. Hot 100 :jonnycat:

- "Watch Me Work" was also another top 5 on the B. U. Hot 100 for miss Tinashe, despite zero promo. This actually happened after the media find out Rihanna stole parts of the song for her own hit "Work (feat. Drake)"!

"2 On" also peaked at #24 on the Billboard Hot 100
