Spanish music is visible all thru out the world. Latin America isn’t the only continent in which we consume Spanish speaking music. This site is constantly downplaying Latinos and ya don’t ever get called out for it.  
 

OT. Madonna and Britney Spears for sure. They are basically unknown in Puerto Rico and thru out the Caribbean islands. I didn’t know about them until I was a teenager when I started seeking English speaking music.

a lot of countries don't have charts or their charts aren't really representative of what's actually popular

 

every personal account will be just an anecdote, even if someone personally travelled to a said country

 

i think checking YouTube stats of where the streams came from or at the very least Spotify charts in countries where it's available would give a more accurate picture. So let's see some receipts first.

Speaking of globalness being overrated. The math isn’t mathing with the pedestal the media had him up on before 2018. With every advantage you can have — male, white, straight, considerably presentable/marketable, you’d think he’d have outsold all of his peers and he has not.
