Agreed about everything except Bad Bunny who's local to the Americas and a non-issue elsewhere. Which is normal because his music is in Spanish.

 

But yeah, Justin Bieber is probably one of the most global artists and I literally don't like him. Harry hasn't matched him yet, because he's still growing in Asia (his soft spots are China and Japan, he's doing great in smaller Asian countries, but those two are giants and he still hasn't quite conquered them). Elsewhere, Harry can go t!t for that with JB.

 

I think Adele is quite global as well, though I'm not sure how big she is in Asia. Rihanna is probably one of the most global pop girls in recent times. Gaga is quite global as well.

 

Who's overrated? Almost everyone else

All pop girls. Shakira’s success is overrated in Asia. Gaga used to be super global but now she declined a lot. Rihanna does well in Europe, but her sales in Asia and South America are weak. Some people are saying Adele when she was doing 90s sales during digital era. She is only weak in Japan but slays everywhere else.

Beyoncé is much bigger here? Look at her sales from Dangerous In Love to Self Titled. Rihanna was never big here to begin with.  

Avrils the only pop star to have a #1 in all 6 continents.

Rih is huge in NA, Latin America, Africa, Australia, All of Europe (Sweden is her weakest European country and she still outsold your fav there too). The only place she is weaker in is Asia and she still manages to sell a healthy amount of albums there. Japan in particular likes her a lot. Her album stats demolish your fav in most markets and her song stats demolish your fav in every market but Japan (ironic huh ) Don’t speak on her

She’s not huge in Latin America. Her and Taylor are about the same level there, and Taylor has been outselling her since 2012. She’s not big in Japan at all. Only one platinum single and one platinum album. Taylor has 2 platinum albums and 3 platinum singles. Mind you, Japan is Taylor’s second weakest market in Asia (behind SK). She’s huge in South East Asia.

Neither Taylor nor Rih are huge in latin america 

 

Taylor is bigger now ever since she started the re releases 

But it cannot be compared to Rih since she hasn't released in a long time 

 

The last time they were contemporaries (kinda) was in 2016/17. Rih had 2  hits Work and TIWYCF. Taylor had LWYMMD and IDWLF which were kinda big. They are about the same

Same level?? Rihanna is more certified than Taylor by a very large margin in places with markets like Brazil and Mexico. She's sold more albums in LA than Taylor so outselling after 2012 clearly didn't matter as she failed to catch her overall sales there. in fact, Rihanna is actually more certified in those two markets than all of her peers (Bar bieber) , she obviously doesn't compare to older acts cause LA album sales died very quickly in the 00s but compared to her peers; She's one of biggest international acts post-00s in LA (I believe she still holds the record for selling out Rock in Rio the fastest amongst women, doing so in 57 mins). Very few post-00s international acts are seeing her statistically in LA (Bieber (He's massive there ), Adele (albums), and Gaga (albums) are the only ones that have sold similar or more albums but none of them match her song stats except Bieber). What does that tell you? 

 

We already know Rih is weaker in Asia. I didn't say she was big. I said Japan shows her a lot of love compared to the rest of the continent and despite her beating weaker there, she has still sold a healthy amount of albums there.

 

 

Beyonce. 

I really don't completely agree that P!nk's globalness is overrated. Her last tour visited Europe and played to sold-out audience ranging from 40k-65k (per show). She also had insane longevity and has stood the test of time, considering she's been active in the industry since 1995.

 

P!nk has sold 135 million records worldwide. I'd say she is much bigger than Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne and Christina Aguilera (in terms of commercial success).
